THOSE TEENAGERS

Anyone that thinks that teenagers are unmotivated and aimless hasn’t met these two..

Braedyn Dixon-Clark and David Glahn were something to marvel at last night in class!

They are 14 and 15 years old respectively and demonstrated fast, snappy, and accurate techniques that were amazing to watch. So proud of these guys!!

B and David of course have family members also training in B’s grandma, third degree Black Belt and Charter member Shellene Dixon Clark, and David’s dad, first degree Black Belt Kory Glahn.

I know that they are even more proud of these guys than I am.

Great job B and Dave!!!

What a great night of wishing our own Sam Baldelli and Grace Baldelli good luck in their move out to Honesdale!

EXCELLENT turnout of people that have trained with Sammie for many years and some for only a few months. We were lucky in addition to our regular training group to have James Truscott, Fred Croop, Darin Dunlap (and kids) Dave Donnora, Jeffrey Mancuso, Tom and Jen Ash, and Bonnie Lee Herron Gunton (who took MANY great pics).

I have been honored over the past eleven years to call Sammie my great training partner (he beats me up all the time which I love) but more importantly my great and loyal friend and mentor. Sammie is a combination of a lethal martial arts EXPERT and one of the biggest hearted people you know. We’ve been through a lot together including a trip to DC to the Viet Nam memorial wall, some bad injuries, and he’s ridden me since my last two heart attacks about not eating too much pizza on Thursday nights. I admire, respect and love him so much.

On behalf of ALL of us at TKC, we thank Sammie for his training, his outstanding expertise and above all else his amazing friendship.

We have already discussed some guest appearances coming in from Honesdale so we all look forward to that. (It will be great for everyone to see me get beat up).

Sammie, we honor and respect you so very much and THANK YOU for your contribution to all of us. Love you so much brother!

HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY TO MY SON Charley Ruddell!!!

Smart and talented, easy going and level headed (like his mother), great musician, writer and so many other things. His birthday is always around Father’s Day, he’s the one that made me a father.

I couldn’t be any prouder of him or love him any more. One of my three heros of this family along with his sister and his mother. I can remember the minute he was born like it was yesterday.

Love you dude!!!

HAPPY 34th ANNIVERSARY TO THIS BEAUTY!!

We flew to Reno on the 31st of March 1989, drove to Carson City and got a marriage license, then drove to Lake Tahoe. The next day April first, Reverend David (also the photographer) married us in Incline Village at the same small place that Tom Selleck (Magnum PI) got married as well.

A half hour later we were sitting playing Black Jack, we told the dealer we had just gotten married and they sent a small cake over to the table. It was perfect..We flew home Sunday and we’re back to work on Monday.

We’ve been married more than half our lives now and I can truly say after all this time, the same thing I’ve always said. Alison Ruddell is truly the best person I know. Beautiful, smart, hilarious, thoughtful, kind, considerate and for those of you wondering, yes; a saint for putting up with me as if there is anyone crying, rolling around on the ground or throwing a tantrum at my house, it’s always been me.

We share two wonderful kids that we’re so proud of and love so much and have been through lots together over the years. Whether it’s been moving across the country, our businesses, my medical stuff, plus so much more, she’s always been there..I am so very lucky..

Love you Sweetie!!!

Great way to start the week!!

Excellent Monday turnout for a mixed bag of a little of everything tonight. Everyone from brand new to advanced looked great!

Welcome back to Sam Baldelli who was under the weather all week last week. Looking like he hadn’t missed a step as usual.

A very well deserved CONGRATULATIONS to Emily Donnora and Dave Gunton for being promoted to Second Dan (degree) Black Belt last night!

They received their second stripe after doing an AMAZING job at their test on February 25th. I couldn’t be more proud of these two!

They are both leaders and examples in our group and we are so grateful to have them both. Outstanding job Emily and Dave, THANK YOU for all of your hard work!

WOW!!!!

What an outstanding Black Belt test!!!

As predicted Dave Gunton and Emily Donnora were absolutely awesome!!

They fought through some injuries and just were so great. I simply couldn’t be more proud of these two. Basics, kicks, pad combos, multiple pad combos, sparring, forms and breaking. Two hours of HARD WORK!!

Their power, snap, technique, focus and intensity was present all the way through, so very impressive.

I mentioned at the end of the test that Dave is 63, and Emily is 15..a 48 year age difference. They both proved that Emily is so much more than “just a teenager” and Dave is not just an “older guy”. NEITHER of these people should be described this way. Emily has a much deeper understanding of technique than someone her age usually does and Dave moves, and trains like someone a lot younger than his physical age.

Thanks so much to our test panel and helpers also. Drake Vosburg, James Truscott, and Jeffrey Mancuso we’re on the panel (Sam Baldelli and Debbie Shotwell were unable to make it) and Randy Phinney and Amy Donnora did a great job in assisting including Randy getting beaten up a few times and take a piece of board while holding for breaking right in the kisser..thanks again to all.

I admire the people in this group so much and am humbled and inspired by all of you including the kids..today was another shining example of that!!

Congratulations again to Dave and Emily on their outstanding achievement of second degree Black Belt!! We are ALL so proud of you!!

Mark your calendars for the TKC Black Belt Test this Saturday at 11:00!!

Come support Dave Gunton and Emily Donnora by watching, holding a pad or board and helping out!

Both are testing for second degree Black Belt, a huge achievement! We are so proud of Dave and Emily.

Look forward to seeing everyone, any of the kids from the kids class are of course welcome to stay and watch also.

Wow, what a turnout!!!!!

31 people showed up today for the WOMENS SELF DEFENSE CLASS!! AWESOME!!!!!

I am so appreciative of those who attended and those from our group that gave up part of their Saturday to help out!!
