Hi everyone - this is Blythe Lenon, Denise Westfall’s daughter. My mom unexpectedly passed away a few months ago, so I wanted to let you know that, because many of you have continued reaching out about lessons. My hope is that I can reopen her swim school down the line when my kids are older so I will keep this page going for that reason, but I wanted to update you if you did not know about my precious mom passing away. 💔💔💔😭😭😭

I apologize for not posting anything earlier!!!!! I have not gotten a definite answer so I don’t think so. I will have to say no swim lessons at ORU the summer of 2024 unless a miracle happens.

I am very sad to say that I will not be able to have swim lessons at ORU this summer. I got the word in late December that we would have them, then it was up in the air, and now it is no for this summer. The person I was speaking with said they are getting ready to have major work done on the Aerobics Center and the pool itself as soon as school is out.

I am very disappointed and frustrated but there is nothing I can do except hope that the work will be done this year and next summer we can get back to having fabulous swim lessons at ORU. And it sounds like ORU students will soon have a spruced up AC to use.

I usually send out an email January 31, but am having trouble with that so please spread the word. I don't know anyone who gives private lessons, but I will put it on FB if I hear of anyone.

Have a good summer and keep those kids in swim lessons somewhere!

No swim lessons at ORU summer 2022. I have just gotten the news that I will NOT be able to have swim lessons at ORU this summer. From what I understand, they were not able to fix the roof last summer because they could not get the materials. Now they will begin May 1 and cannot guarantee the job would be finished by summer. I was so disappointed and sad to hear this news, especially when I was told we were all set to go last month. I am not giving up hope for next summer!!!!!

Hurrah!!!!!! Swim lessons are back at ORU 2022!!!! More info to follow and ORU is working on simplifying the enrollment process. I will explain everything when I find out. Be ready January 31, midnight!!! Can’t wait !!

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to be able to tell you swim lessons will go on as usual, but that is not the case. I am completely at the mercy of ORU who has to follow the guidelines of the TCHD who has to consider what the CDC says.

So, I do not know what swim lessons will look like this year. Oru suggested delaying registration until April but that is just an idea. We have to wait and see how things are going closer to summer.

Hello everyone! It came to my attention that I was nominated for Tulsa Kids' Magazine Family best swim lessons in Tulsa?! Very honored! I wanted to attach the link here - my name is listed in the late 30's and you don't have to vote on every question or category just FYI. I'd love for you to vote for our lessons so we can continue getting the word out in Tulsa! Thank you so much!! Again, so sad lessons will not be happening this summer.

Hello everyone,

I must regretfully tell you that because of COVID-19, ORU has decided to keep the Aerobics Center closed through at least August 1, 2020. Therefore, my swim lessons at ORU are canceled along with all summer camps.

Words cannot express my disappointment, as I look forward to teaching swim lessons all year. I have taught swim lessons during this time period beginning Memorial Day since college, so it is going to be really weird not to be at the pool teaching.

I hope to see all of you next year and I know everyone hopes our lives will move on soon from this time of uncertainty. I will miss seeing all of you, and especially teaching your children. I know the wonderful teachers we have feel the same way.

If you have already paid, don’t worry. ORU will be refunding all of the payments in the next few days; you do not have to ask.

Openings June 24-July 5!!!!
Due to a scheduling glitch, our last session actually DOES have openings. I found out this afternoon that we have quite a few openings even though I have been telling everyone we were full for quite a while now! Please spread the word! One can never take too many swim lessons! It is OK to miss days; some kids even miss a week. Hope to see some of you!
