Personal Best Athletics Personal Best Athletics is a year round training opportunity for youth.

We hope to provide a supportive environment that encourages self-confidence and promotes experiencing joy in the process of training. Further, we believe that through the training process individuals can develop physical, mental, social, and spiritual growth.

-Physically the goal is to increase overall health and teach individuals an appreciation for hard work that enables them to experience the

joy of being fully satisfied with their effort.

-Socially we are all about building team work and meaningful relationships that supports performance without the fear of results.

-Mentally the goal of is to utilitze sport to promote emotional growth.

FIVE ”E” EXPRESSIONS of PBA Participants…

~ENERGY~ENTHUSIASM~ENCOURAGEMENT~
~EFFICIENCY~EFFECTIVENESS~

✅ ENERGY 👍

•Fueling, Hydration, Recovery, Rest, Sleep, Peace of Mind, Prayerful, and Grateful.

•We practice post workout fueling, prioritize hydration, and acknowledge the fuel that empowers us to have the energy and feel we hope to have when we hope to have it!

•We learn appropriate rest periods in practice and throughout the week.

•We realize the body, mind, and spirit has a certain capacity in each season. We listen to our body and communicate what/how we feel as a healthy approach to not exceed our capacity, but to embrace and respect it as we grow into it.

•There’s a huge peace when we’re expressing our energy at the most efficient and effective levels in the practice we’re present in or the competition we’re participating in.

•Being present in His presence is an opportunity I hope we experience more often then not. Take a Deep Breath — He breathed life into us!

✅ ENTHUSIASM 🤗

•Excited to try, Afraid of Nothing.

•We enjoy challenges because Challenges are Opportunities.

•We trust the Process of C+P=I (Consistency + Patience = Improvement). We do hard things.

•Enthusiasm is sometimes silly and so full of joy we’re a bit obnoxious with belly-ache and face-cramping laughter, and sometimes enthusiasm is simply sincere effort in a super hard workout or a challenging race.

•Enthusiasm is contagious and when we identify something important to us we often can’t help but be enthusiastic to be in the arena and community that share in our enthusiasm.


✅ ENCOURAGEMENT 👐 🙏 👏👏👏 👊

•An encouraging community is where people thrive…

•Sometimes we have a lot of energy and enthusiasm that we give encouragement others

•Sometimes we don’t have something that others give us, and sometimes we don’t have something but by giving encouragement we ourselves are encouraged.

•Tender mercies from the LORD — look for them! They are there: in a still small voice, words from Him, scriptures, circumstances, encouragement, and the priceless people divinely placed in our life, specifically in this season!

✅ EFFICIENCY 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️💨💨

•KISS - Keep It Simple Smarty Pants.

•Major on the majors and minor on the minors.

•The goal is to go from Unconscious-Incompetence (when we don’t realize we’re moving inefficiently) to Unconscious-Competence (when we don’t have to think about moving efficiently). The process includes Showing where the movement is incompetent and inefficient, this is called “coaching critique” which can feel like criticism but is most effective when received as correction and re-direction towards a more effective direction. CONSCIOUS-COMPETENCE is moving toward Conscious-Cues that enhance Consistent Efficiency in the specific movement pattern. UNCONSCIOUS-COMPETENCE, the end goal is to toe the line and not have to think about those cues but freely express the best movement with the most freedom! These process can fluctuate throughout a season and of-course throughout a lifespan.

•Efficiency requires patience and relaxation. Remember the last process we went through?
A process towards efficiency is rarely linear and usually exposes many other challenges (opportunities) to grow!

•Replacing breaking-down-wasted movement with building-up-efficient movement is the business of PBA, and business is good!


✅ EFFECTIVENESS 💪 🙌 👏

•We are most effective when our actions most authentically express our intentions.

•It’s always special When we give our best effort and our body responds to our effort: in actions, in words, and in deeds. This is usually coupled with a presence bigger then ourselves, perhaps the presence bigger then is catalyst to effectively executing our Personal Best.

•Movement toward mastery enhances our expression of our PersonalBest. Good - Better - Best. We celebrate PersonalBest efforts, and We CELEBRATE optimal expressions of our best.
