In 2010, Booker T. Washington High School placed 74th in Newsweek magazine's list of the top 100 public high schools in the US. In 2011, Newsweek magazine reported the high school's graduation rate was 99%, with 97% of the students being college-bound. Washington was the first Tulsa Public High School to offer Advanced Placement courses and is one of only two high schools in Oklahoma to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma. With the addition of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, the program today attracts students who thrive in a challenging environment.
