Enjoy photos from the Division I victory against the Mansfield Knights at the World Series.
Baserunners were hard to come by early for both teams, as the Jaguars were no-hit through five innings. Pinch hitter Brennen Cseh would lead off the top of the sixth inning with a base hit to right field to break up the no-no. Lance Bellmard followed with a bunt single, and Mansfield’s starter, Posey, was removed.
Ethan Wilke laid down a sacrifice bunt, moving pinch runner Simon Laur and Bellmard over to second and third.
Isaac Call followed with a deep sacrifice fly that scored Laur, and Bellmard would follow close behind on a throwing error — making the score 2-0 in the middle of the sixth.
Mansfield would answer with a run of their own in the bottom half, after an error, a steal of second base, and a single to right field.
The Jaguars would add to their lead in the top of the seventh, as Arant was hit by a pitch, and a Levi Fisher double to right center would score courtesy runner Jacob Sanders from first base, making the score 3-1.
Pinch hitter Luke Wagner would add insurance with a double to the left center gap scoring pinch runner Beau Young, making the score 4-1.
Will Jameson would add insult to injury with a base hit to center field scoring pinch runner Finn Schmitz. Advantage NOAH, 5-1, going into the seventh.
In their final frame, Mansfield would add two runs on two NOAH errors, a single, a hit batsmen, and a sacrifice fly — before the final out was made on a fly ball hit deep to right fielder Gabe Mathews for the 5-3 victory.
Senior Ethan Arant toed the mound one last time for NOAH, giving a brilliant performance — throwing six complete innings, allowing no earned runs, surrendering just three hits, and striking out nine. With the strong outing, the right hander earned his team-leading and program record eleventh win of the season.
Wilke threw one complete inning of no-hit baseball in the seventh to earn the save.
With the win, NOAH will own their own pool when they return to the 2027 HWSA World Series
