Kai USA’s Zero Tolerance brand of knives made its first appearance in 2006. The company saw a place in the market for a made-in-the-USA line of hard-use knives that would meet the needs of professionals, such as the military, law enforcement, as well as other first responders, including fire fighters and emergency medical personnel. The initial products were combat knives, but since that time, the

line has expanded to include a variety of general-use and premium knives. Although Zero Tolerance knives are larger, heavier knives, many customers use them as everyday carrying knives. Designed and manufactured to stand up to heavy-duty use, Zero Tolerance Knives are built of premium materials such as S30V, ELMAX, or 154CM blade steel and 3-D machined G-10 handle scales. The knives have earned a reputation among their devoted fans for being “built like a tank” or “a real beast” or even being—proudly—“overbuilt.”

Whether it’s for survival, the great outdoors, or summer projects, the military inspired 0006 is the answer. Though it pays homage to the original ZT-9 with a steel guard, this full-tang beast is not a bayonet. Instead, this versatile ZT fits snugly in a durable Kydex sheath for travel. Named after its 6-inch blade, the 0006 uses CPM 3V, a tough tool steel that resists edge chipping during the hardest work tasks. While this non-stainless steel wasn’t designed for corrosion resistance, ZT added a clear Cerakote coating for greater durability. It’s a thick blade at 3/16 inches, but still plenty functional. The rounded profile fills the hand without being too big, and an olive G10 handle offers comfortable grip. Choke up on the aggressive jimping with or without gloves for greater control.
