Cactus Cycling Club - Tucson, AZ

See how much fun a really friendly bike club can be! In 2003 a group of social friendly bikers got together and created the Cactus Cycling Club of Tucson.

The idea was to create an environment for bikers of all levels to enjoy the sport together. Our mission was simple:

- Promote safe and courteous cycling, and institute safe riding habits
- Provide recreational cycling opportunities for the community
- Encourage members to individually participate in cycling advocacy
programs and activities
- Share our enthusiasm with new riders and encourage them to become
responsible cyclists

The Cactus team took a detuor route to Colossal Cave today under beautiful skies and on a recently chip-sealed portion of the "old" Colossal Cave road. And someone very special finally got her Prickly Pear ice cream!

The Cactus team had a wonderful stroll through the Park today that included the reopening of Tanque Verde Wash, new pavement on Speeedway, swept shoulders on Tanque Verde, minimal traffic in the Park, and beautiful multi-color Spring blossums in orange, pink, yellow, and white,

Today, a group of Cactus members took time off from cycling to clean up Catalina Highway as part of the Adopt a Highway program.

Phil Roper won the prize for the most unique find - a miniature rubber duck.
