I had the pleasure of watching two of my former players play a college game against each other. They just happen to also be in the same league and played today in the city where my son attends college. It was a great day.

The reason I started The Bay Area Mustangs was to provide an experience for that i felt he wasn't receiving in previous years.  Youth basketball can be a building block for so many life lessons and character building. Determination, work ethic, accountability, teamwork, experiencing the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat all while having fun. It's a difficult task, but it can be done.  I knew there were other kids in the same position as Jordan. So in 6th grade, i found those kids and a team/program was born. Soon one team turned into three. Including two high school teams.  

I would like to thank all the players, parents, coaches, mentors and friends of the program for believing in my vision and helping it come true.  I didn't have scholarships or free shoes to give out.  Just the promise of improvement with hard work. Im extremely proud of what the Mustang players have accomplished on and off the court/field. 

So with the graduation of Jordan and him saying goodbye to basketball, it's only right that the Mustangs go out with him.  Maybe one day if Jordan brings me some grandkids and they need a team I'll bring it back. As of now, The Mustangs are retired.
