LATE POST- Huge shout out to our Vail Wrestling Academy wrestlers who gave it their all on the mat this past weekend. First and foremost, we finished 11th as a team with no high schoolers competing to earn points. We saw the debuts of:

• Blaise (1st place)
• Corbin (5th place)
• Wesley (1st place)
• Romona (5th place)
• Joshua (3rd place)

Congrats to Mr. Scott for his FIRST WIN and making the podium. Noah also placed FIRST IN TWO DIVISIONS. A huge shoutout to all the other wrestlers who demonstrated grit and determination in tough brackets. Everyone who placed finished in the top 4 and showed tremendous perseverance.

Big thanks to Coach Trent and all the coaches who stepped up to help, to our incredible parents, and most importantly, our athletes. They continue to show up each day eager to learn. They've grown so much, and it's only looking up from here 📈 GO BOLTS!!!!⚡️⚡️⚡️

You’ve put in the work in our wrestling room. You’ve drilled when you were tired. You’ve pushed through hard practices. You’ve been challenged, uncomfortable, and tested.

Now execute. Wrestle with confidence. Wrestle with purpose. Wrestle for the person who showed up every day when nobody was watching. Most importantly... Wrestle and have fun!

⚡ LIBERTY HIGH SCHOOL DUALS RECAP ⚡

Two days. Over 15 rounds of wrestling. Several teams from UT, NV, AZ, NM, and CA. Countless opportunities to learn, compete, and grow.

This weekend, the Mica Mountain Boys Wrestling team traveled to Phoenix to get plenty of mat time and put into place what they work on daily. Every match presented a new challenge, every round offered another opportunity to improve, and every athlete stepped onto the mat ready to compete.

While the wrestling was intense, what stood out most was the way these young men supported one another. From coaching each other between matches, to cheering from the corner, to celebrating victories and overcoming setbacks together, they continued building the culture that makes our program special.

Summer wrestling isn't about trophies. It's about gaining experience, developing confidence, building relationships, and laying the foundation for the season ahead.

We left Phoenix with more mat time, more lessons learned, and stronger bonds than when we arrived.

The work continues.

⚡ One Standard.

The matches will be forgotten. The lessons will remain. The friendships will last forever. That's what this weekend was really about.

At Vail Wrestling Academy, our athletes aren't just joining a program; they're joining a family. They're helping build it. The friendships they form, the work ethic they develop, and the culture they create today will become the foundation for future generations of Vail wrestlers.

The 2026-2027 season marks the seventh year of wrestling at Mica Mountain High School. What began with a small group of athletes in 2020 has grown into a program built on grit, resilience, character, and family. While our story is still being written, every athlete who joins today has the opportunity to help shape the next chapter.
