There is so much talk about “good diets” and “bad diets” for reaching health and fitness goals.
But what classifies a diet as good or bad? There are hundreds of different diets, ideas, programs, nutrition tips, tricks, and hacks out there, so how can you make sense of it all and earn the results you want? Simple, think of it like this…
The title “bad nutrition plan” is not just reserved for what I call the “eating like a nitwit plan”, where you are eating a bunch of junk and crap food without any regard for your health or any idea of portion sizes. A bad nutrition plan is any plan that YOU are unable to stick to and/or does not help YOU reach YOUR goals. Therefore, a “good nutrition plan” is any plan that YOU can stick to AND is helping YOU reach your goals!
This means that you are going to have to figure out what works best for you, your routine, your lifestyle, and your goals. Which that in itself can be pretty overwhelming, especially as you are just starting out.
The good news is…. There are some great places to start that are proven to help the most amount of people get the best results possible! For example…
You can follow a Portion Control Plan which focuses on getting a palm size portion of protein, and fist size portion of carbs, and a fist size portion of veggies at each meal…. eating 5-6 times a day.
You can track your macronutrients which gives you the flexibility to eat what you want…. BUT you have to be very exact with measuring your food before eating it. Shoot, if you are just beginning you can track your calories like I started with so you can at least see what your actual food intake for the day is. Then adjust more into macro counting from there since you learned the habit to track.
No matter what, if you want to reach your goals, you need to figure out a good nutrition plan for YOU!
