The University of Arizona Women's Rugby Football Club was founded in the fall of 1997. The team began as part of the Southern California Rugby Union and became the SoCal Division II Champions for the first time in the spring of 2007. They have played in the USA Rugby National Tournament, where they were ranked fifth in 2007 and again in 2009. In 2012, the team committed to playing DI in the Pacifi
c Mountain Rugby Conference in the 2013 season. In 2016 we committed to playing DI in the Gold Coast Rugby Conference for the 2017 season. As a club sport on campus, we do receive monetary support from the university; however, we are primarily financially independent. As such, we appreciate any and all support from the local Tucson community and elsewhere. We hold various fundraisers throughout the year to support our travel, tournament fees, and home matches.
