Huskies Roll Past Tuscaloosa County 49-0 as Coach Floyd Earns 200th Career Win
Hewitt-Trussville head football coach Josh Floyd reached a major milestone Friday night, earning the 200th victory of his career as the Huskies rolled to a 49-0 region win over Tuscaloosa County in Northport. With the victory, Hewitt-Trussville improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in region play.
The Huskies took control early. After the defense forced a three-and-out, Jack Floyd connected with Jackson Martin for a touchdown just two plays into the opening drive. The duo struck again on the first play of the next possession when Floyd found Martin for a 49-yard touchdown and a 14-0 lead.
Floyd then connected with DJ Hall for another score before Daniel Williams broke free for a 17-yard touchdown run, giving the Huskies a 28-0 lead after the first quarter.
Hewitt-Trussville continued its dominance in the second quarter when Floyd found Henry Farrell for a touchdown. The Huskies entered halftime leading 35-0 after scoring on all five first-half possessions and totaling 264 yards on just 16 plays.
Williams added his second touchdown on an 18-yard run in the third quarter, and Nathan Moore capped the scoring with a fourth-quarter touchdown run.
The Huskies finished with 434 yards of offense. Floyd completed 18 of 19 passes for 258 yards and four touchdowns. Williams rushed for 65 yards and two scores, Hall had four catches for 79 yards and a touchdown, and Martin turned both of his receptions into touchdowns.
The defense completed the dominant performance by keeping Tuscaloosa County off the scoreboard for the Huskies’ first shutout of the season.

The Huskies return home Friday to host Prattville in another region matchup.
