Hewitt-Trussville senior Corey Goguts has been named the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) Miss Softball, recognizing her as the top softball player in the state of Alabama.

Goguts helped lead the Huskies to the 2026 Class 7A State Championship and capped off one of the most accomplished careers in program history. Her outstanding performance at the plate, leadership on and off the field, and dedication to the game made her a deserving choice for Alabama’s highest individual softball honor.

Corey leaves Hewitt-Trussville as a state champion, record-setter, and role model for future Huskies. She was named the Gatorade Player of the Year and selected to the Super All State Team.

Congratulations, Corey, on this incredible achievement! Your Husky family is proud of you and excited to watch your continued success at Ole Miss.

HT Baseball Honored on All-State Team 🏆⚾

The Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) released the 2026 All-State Baseball Team on Saturday, and several Huskies earned top honors following a state championship season.

🔴 Jace Riggan was named First Team All-State and 7A Pitcher of the Year after posting an 8-3 record with a 1.05 ERA. Riggan threw three shutouts and recorded 80 strikeouts on the season.

🔴 Cale McIntosh earned Second Team All-State honors. McIntosh finished the year with an 8-0 record, including earning the win in the state championship game. He posted a 1.25 ERA and held opponents to a .196 batting average.

🔴 Hudson Mitchell was also named Second Team All-State after batting .396 with 40 RBIs and 22 runs scored this season.

🔴 Head Coach Jeff Mauldin was named the 7A Coach of the Year after leading the Huskies to the 2026 State Championship. Mauldin owns a career record of 789-236-1 and a 395-123-1 record at Hewitt-Trussville.

Congratulations to Jace, Cale, Hudson, Coach Mauldin, and the entire Husky Baseball program on an outstanding season!

🏆 HT Softball Honored on ASWA All-State Team 🥎

The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its 2026 All-State Team on Thursday, and several Huskies earned top honors following a historic season that ended with a 7A State Championship!

⭐ Corey Goguts was named First Team All-State and 7A Hitter of the Year after batting .618 with 29 home runs. Goguts was also recently named the Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year.

⭐ Harper Looney earned First Team All-State honors after helping lead the Huskies to the state title and earning State Tournament MVP honors.

⭐ Presley Hull and Erin Coleman were also named First Team All-State following outstanding seasons.

🏆 Head Coach Taylor Burt was named the 7A Coach of the Year. Under Coach Burt's leadership, the Huskies have captured five state championships and appeared in six championship games since 2019.

Congratulations to Coach Burt and all of our All-State Huskies on an incredible season!

Join us for the Hewitt-Trussville Youth Volleyball Camp this summer at the HTHS Bryant Bank Arena! This camp is open to rising 1st–6th graders and is a great opportunity to learn fundamentals, build skills, and have fun with Husky Volleyball.
