About ten years ago, chad Worsell, Steve rankin, Brandon Manheim, my brother and I were just about to get into our blinds... we were waiting for the sun to come up, it was October. Now if you know the five of us, we are a mouthy group of guys, we are always talking and busting balls. Well that morning, that sunrise shut us up. We sat there in silence, no one said a word. Occasionally you’d hear someone take in a deep breath and let out a sigh and say, “dam, look at that sunrise” I remember saying, “ there’s something about that October sky “ hence October Sky Outdoors. We’ve hunted with a lot of guys since then .. Koehler, Morley, Ector, the smiths, Conroy and his buddy Mosher, Bailey, Bechtold, Thompson, and many more. We’ve all seen that morning October sky together at some point. Every time I see that October sky sunrise, I think of all the guys and gals I’ve ever hunted with over the years. I remember every single one. Here’s to a great group of hunting buddies. Ethan is actually wearing a back tag 😂

Education on antler growth. Let them grow a little. I put this together to show the life of a spike to a Booner.

In the first picture He’s a spike at 1 1/2, 2 1/2 he was 85”, 3 1/2 he was 122”, 4 1/2 he was 164”.

In the second picture he’s 165” @ 5 1/2, 6 1/2 he was a Booner at 170” and weighed 260 pounds !! 7 1/2 and was starting his decline at 166” but still weighed 250-260lbs. 8 1/2 he’s 160”

In the third picture @ 9 1/2 he’s still 160”, 10 1/2 he’s 156”, 11 1/2 he’s 143 inches and weighs around 200 lbs. The last picture was taken two weeks before he died. He weighed 130 pounds and his antlers were around 105”.

and a gorgeous 8 point she took last night. “Finally Met Bambi’s Dad 😂 happy as hell with this guy! Couldn’t ask for a better night. Came in to my grunt call at 20 yards, bled so much and was dead within 100 yards right on the main trail.” Congrats on a nice buck Sam !!

Brandon Bardo of Cayuga County NY shot one hell of a buck opening day of gun season. He’s been chasing this buck for 3 years, that’s one awesome buck !!
