We are excited to share news of our generous sponsorship presented last night by Roseburg Forest Products. A long-time member of the Siskiyou County community, Roseburg has joined in our mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle, a love of nature, and equitable access to sports. The MSHS Alpine Team program requires community involvement and strives to help athletes learn to maintain high standards for personal athletic and academic achievement, skills which become the scafolding of adulthood.

High School Alpine Racing in Mt. Shasta has deep history and its roots embody the spirit of our community. Many alumni of the alpine race team return home to build families and become active in service to our community.

Investment in our youth provides the threads that form the fabric which make our community strong. Mt. Shasta High School Alpine Race Team gives a big thanks to Roseburg Forest Products for their partnership in our program.

As we prepare for our season, our thoughts and gratitude go towards our local business sponsors and to the Tom and Nancy Driscoll Fund. You make a difference for these youth and our program would not exist without your committed support. Furthermore, we would also like to thank the office staff at Mt. This was one for the Books! Team work and solid decision making made all the difference for success in this year's CNISSF High School State Championships 2024! Thank you to the Mt Shasta Ski Park, the Mt. Shasta Ski & Snowboard Team, and race officials for hosting a great race in challenging conditions.
Most of all, thank you to all the Division Coordinators and High School Ski & Snowboard Coaches in California for busting through the storm and bringing your athletes to our hill this year!

I think we can all agree the resent snow storms have created challenges for all. Record amount of snow 562”. Morning of the ski race Northstar had 37” of new snow. Thank you Northstar California Resort and Northstar Race Crew with your perseverance and professionalism you pulled off a complete CNISSF Ski and Snowboard State Championships 2023!

All events had two run races with minimal injuries.

Conditions were challenging, chasing the weather window up to the very last event in men’s snowboard second run where the winds were progressively, shutting lift access down.

Thank you to all of the schools, athletes, coaches, officials, and the entire NorthStar staff for making us feel welcome and creating a lifelong experience for us all.

I am not sure where to start……Huge day! GS race and award ceremony for slalom and GS skiing.

Logan Malee (sophomore) 5th in Slalom and 5th in GS, Combined 3rd place in states!

Angelina Malee-Koster (sophomore) 11th in Slalom, 10th in GS, and Combined 8th place in States

Andrew Hoskins - (senior) 8th in GS, and Combined 8th place in States!

Boys placed 1st northern division champions, Girls places 1at northern division, and placed 1st combined.

State Championship Day 1 Northstar California Resort. Slalom. The kids ran an awesome race. Getting here in a snow storm was not planned but we all made it. Last Wednesday was our last HS race for 2022/23. It’s a fun race with costumes and kids and last chance to qualify for state champs. Coach David was the forerunner. Congrats to racers and have fun, go fast, and make us proud at State Championship Northstar.

Race #5 in the books! Congratulations to all racers. Our last race is next Monday, February 27th. Then we are off to State Championships, Northstar California Resort Tahoe.

Thank you again for everyone’s efforts. Mt. Shasta Ski Park, Mt Shasta Ski Patrol, and Mt. Shasta Ski & Snowboard Team. It was great hearing Mike on the mic! Thank you.
