Coach Kirsten and the Tahoe City PGA Jr. League Teams took on All Stars last week down at Haggin Oaks in Sacramento. The 17U team finished in a tie for 1st place while the 13U team took 3rd. Two podium finishes for our Tahoe Truckee teams💪 Way to go boys and girls!

PGA Jr. League is a great avenue for introductory competition and coaching opportunities. Many courses have a team including numerous of our courses in Truckee - Old Greenwood/Gray’s, Tahoe Donner, Martis Camp, Ponderosa, and Tahoe City. If your child is looking for some mentorship and team environment golf the PGA Jr. League is a great program. Team play runs through the summer months May to August ish, reach out to the courses for more information.

Once again, we LOVE to see TTjGT participants branching out and playing in all sorts of different events.

A very special congratulations to one of TTjGT’s incredible volunteers, Gus Jones, on his recent induction into the Northern California PGA of America Hall of Fame! 👏⛳️

Gus has been a cornerstone of the Truckee Tahoe golf community. He recently retired from a long tenure at Martis Camp where he served as the Director of Golf and General Manager. His passion for growing the game extends far and we appreciate his Tournament Officiating services for TTjGT. In addition to his support of TTjGT, Gus serves on the EJ Tegner Foundation Board, another big supporter of junior golf in our community.

We are incredibly grateful to learn from Gus’s vast knowledge of the game of golf. Volunteers like him make TTjGT what it is, and we are fortunate that he donates his time to us.

Congratulations, Gus, on this well-deserved honor!

The EJ Tegner Tournament is an annual event held in honor of Mr. EJ Tegner, who passed away in the spring of 2014. Through the EJ Tegner “Let’s Bet on Youth” Golf Foundation, his wife, Marilyn Wood, continues his legacy by supporting local youth golf programs and providing scholarships throughout the region.

This tournament serves as a fundraiser for the foundation, whose generosity has had a tremendous impact on junior golf in the Tahoe/Truckee area. The foundation is not only a dedicated supporter of TTjGT but also proudly supports the golf programs at both Truckee High School and North Tahoe High School.

We are incredibly grateful to the EJ Tegner Foundation for its continued commitment to growing the game and creating opportunities for young golfers.

A huge thank you to all of our participants, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who helped make this year’s event such a success. Big shoutout to Old Greenwood for hosting this wonderful event. Your support allows us to continue making a difference in the lives of junior golfers.
