There are mentors… and then there are the ones who stay with you through every chapter of life.

I got a call the other day from someone who has been in my corner since I was about 10 or 12 years old- my mentor, John Marchi. He said, “Hey, I found the card in my backseat… it must’ve fallen out of the bag.”

That “bag” was a St. Louis Cardinals onesie that showed up at the range for my new baby!

Now here’s the funny part… John is NOT a Cardinals fan. Not even close. But I am- through & through. And that’s what makes this so special. It wasn’t about him… it was about me, and now, my family.

That’s who John has always been.

Over the years, he’s taught me so much about the game of golf… but more importantly, he’s taught me about consistency, humility, and what it looks like to truly invest in people. The kind of mentor who doesn’t just show up on the lesson tee… but shows up in life.

And now, to share a moment like this? Stepping into parenthood - and to have him still right there, thinking of me (and my little one), means more than I can put into words.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Thank you, John- for the lessons, the belief, and for reminding me what it means to be a great coach, mentor, and man.

And don’t worry… we’ll make sure this kid is raised the right way! 😉⛳️⚾️
