Tomorrow I head to Cleveland for MALS & SMAS repair surgery - something on one hand I’ve waited decades to reach, on the other had no idea was needed.
My health struggles started when I was just 5 years old. Through the years, I’ve been misdiagnosed and undiagnosed, often jumping through a million hoops yet was always left without answers or solutions that worked. What I’ve learned through this journey is the power of listening to your own body, trusting your intuition, and never giving up in searching for what feels true.
After all these years, I finally found clarity thanks to Dr. Jordan Bray at NDC Integrating Wellness in Troy, who uncovered the rare diagnosis that explained it all. For that, I am incredibly grateful.
I am sharing this post as a reminder: your body knows, your intuition is wise, and persistence matters. Even though it can be hard to trust yourself enough to sometimes go against what you’re being told - there were many times I chalked my symptoms up to exaggeration or talked myself into them being “normal”, thinking it was all in my head to the point of beating myself up for not doing enough to make it go away - your personal process will continue to guide you when you follow it. I learned that empowerment comes from honoring yourself enough to keep looking for the answers you deserve. Unseen doesn’t mean unfelt so give yourself or someone in your life who shares in this frustration grace and encouragement as you continue to search and question.
I’ll be stepping away from social media while I recover, for however long my body needs. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my story up to this point, your encouragement, love, and support have meant more than words can capture.
