YOU MAY HAVE HELPED ANOTHER FAMILY FIND MASTERY.

We’ve been reviewing the Mastery Parent Experience Study, and one thing really stood out to me.

About 40% of the families who responded told us that another parent, friend, family member, or Mastery family played a role in helping them discover Mastery and decide to get started.

That means a lot of you have done something pretty powerful without probably thinking much about it.

You shared your child’s story.

You talked about something you were seeing change.

Maybe it was more confidence.

Better focus.

Handling frustration differently.

Speaking up more.

Becoming more responsible.

Or simply finding an activity your child finally loved.

And another parent heard that story and thought:

Maybe this could help my child too.

That conversation led to another child walking through our doors.

I think that’s pretty amazing.

So first, thank you.

And second, I want to encourage you to keep doing it.

When you notice something changing in your child, don’t be afraid to talk about it.

There are parents around you right now who are trying to figure out what their child needs.

Sometimes the thing that gives them the confidence to take the first step isn’t an ad.

It’s hearing another parent say, “This is what we were dealing with… and this is what we’re seeing now.”

Your child’s success story may be exactly what another family needs to hear.

And if that story helps one more child get started on their own journey, that’s something we can all feel pretty good about.

There is something really special about watching a child take those first steps onto the mat.

For Zoey, this is the beginning of learning how to listen, focus, follow directions, try her best, and become more confident in herself. And she gets to do it while having a whole lot of FUN! 🐯

But one of our favorite things about welcoming a new student is that we aren't just welcoming the child.

We're welcoming the entire family. ❤️

Mom, Dad, siblings, grandparents... everyone becomes part of the journey. They'll be there for the first belt, the big breakthroughs, the proud smiles, and all those little victories that happen along the way.

“MOM, I’M BORED.”

Most parents hear this one a lot.

And the natural response is to start solving it.

“Go play outside.”
“Get your Legos.”
“Read a book.”
“Go find something to do.”

But here’s another way to handle it.

Instead of giving them the answer, ask:
“What do you think you could do?”

Then wait.

At first, you may get:

“I don’t know.”

That’s okay.

Ask again:
“Look around. What are some options?”

Now they have to think.

They have to notice what’s available.
They have to come up with an idea.
They have to decide what to do next.

That may seem like a tiny moment.

But this is exactly the kind of thinking we want children to develop.

Because if every time they’re bored, confused, or unsure what to do next, an adult immediately provides the answer, they get very good at waiting for direction.

Instead, sometimes give them the space to figure it out.

“What could you do?”
“What sounds interesting?”
“What’s your next move?”

The goal isn’t to eliminate boredom.

Boredom can actually be a great opportunity for a child to practice initiative.

Eventually, instead of:
“I’m bored. Tell me what to do.”

we want:
“I’m bored. Let me figure out what I can do.”

That’s a small shift.

But it’s awareness.

It’s initiative.

And over time, it becomes part of learning how to lead yourself.
