Just a reminder that the fall ice contract starts September 2, 2026 All skaters must have their ice contract turned in (if they are contracting ice) before getting on the ice.

Thank you Jenny Burke who is stepping down as TAFS Secretary after a dozen or so years of faithful dedication to the Club. Yesterday was her last club email to all. Please welcome the incoming TAFS Secretary, Michelle Baker.

RIP Hayden and Michelle ❤️

Hayden Panettiere and Michelle Trachtenberg appeared together on screen in Disney's 2005 film, ‘Ice Princess’. This image now feels profoundly sad, as both actresses passed away much too young.

The recent death of Hayden Panettiere at age 36 today truly echoes the loss of Michelle Trachtenberg at age 39 in February 26, 2025. Both actresses famously played figure-skating rivals in ‘Ice Princess’, and their careers mirrored each other’s in many ways.

Having started in Hollywood as children, both women faced immense pressures early on. They transitioned into notable TV roles in the mid-2000s—Panettiere in ‘Heroes’ and Trachtenberg in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and ‘Gossip Girl’—but tragically, their lives ended within 18 months of each other.

Tenley Albright won Olympic gold 70 years ago in Cortina d'Ampezzo for figure skating. 🏅 🏔️ ⛸

This week, she came to the Milan-Cortina Olympics to watch Alysa Liu win the gold medal – and to celebrate with other legendary U.S. Olympians like Brian Boitano, Scott Hamilton, Kristi Yamaguchi, Alysa Liu, Sarah Hughes and Dorothy Hamill.

Her impact is felt worldwide.
