Zort Racing attended the annual Mark Miller Memorial Race, we ran the 35 & over class along with 7 other old farts.. I qualified horrible (Missed on the tires) and the heat I did somewhat better but started 7th. The race went okay made a couple of passes but and ended up finishing 6th. The kart had speed thanks to Bill Williams @ Trick Connection Racing I definitely had the power I needed just couldn’t find the right groove. Track was dusty but had some grip, the bump on turn 3/4 was taken care of so the track is getting better each week (YAY!) I will be racing next weekend at Cridersville Speedway so I will update you all then..

Zort Racing made the trip to Cridersville Speedway for the annual Mark Miller Memorial race.. Mark Miller was a fellow racer, who has been racing at Cridersville Speedway for many years, when he wasn’t racing he helped out the track assisting with being a corner worker and EMT. He is missed by many and it is an honor to to be able to race to for such a great event.. His family came out and had a table with many of his pictures throughout his lifetime.. I didn’t know Mark well but I truly am honored to have known him. Thank you Cridersville Speedway for hosting this event and thank you to the family for being there as well.

Last night Zort Racing took the trip to Cridersville Speedway! It’s been awhile that Mother Nature has let us take to the track but we did just that last night. The track was good even after the rain showers we got. The Cridersville Speedway team rose to the occasion and got it done!

Knowing there was incoming weather the board made the call for the rain schedule.. Practice one heat and the Feature, normally we run two heat races but they knew there would be a rain delay and adjusted as needed.. Great call! The rain came, we waited, the track got worked in and we racers persevered! (Finally)

Best race I finished 5th out of 5, so I started tail, feature came and I got around third and fourth and made it to third and that’s where I finished!

So happy for the Zort Racing Ultramax to be back on track.

The dirt racing season has been a bust for me this year. I typically race at Cridersville Speedway and I am running a limited class and we have raced once this summer. I don’t travel much at all during the summer but I am thinking of something different. Let’s hope for a good dry rest of the week so we can get the track and pits dried up and race ready!

So glad that I am not racing this Holiday Weekend.. it’s hot out and not sure it would be a good thing.

Plus being able to just chill on our nations 250th Birthday this July 4th is very nice!

This past Saturday I made my debut with the sprint kart at G&J Kartway! It sure was fun. There is a big learning curve coming from LTO (Left Turn Only) racing but nonetheless I hit the track and did some learning.. Daniel Lambert joined me in the Legends LO206 (yes I’m old) class and Josh Heitz ran in the Masters LO206.. Per the newbie rules we start in the back and finish where ever you finish.. I finished where I started, the back! 😝 I will tell you that we dirt guys have been welcomed and have been helped by many other racers, I know I appreciate that for sure.. several things to learn and something I have not done before was actually race in the rain. Our final started with it sprinkling and we were able to get 6 laps in before it became a tad to wet that for all of our safety the race director through the red flag and ended the race.. Thank you for that! Nonetheless it was fun, and I can’t wait to hit the track again..

Thank you to G&J Kartway and OVKA and everyone that has allowed us to join the fun of asphalt racing.
