Cheerleading is unlike any other sport out there, these athletes get less than 3 minutes to show for a whole season worth of hard work. They don’t get time outs or half times to reflect on what’s gone wrong, if they make a mistake there is no coming back from it. It’s the only sport where scoring is completely subjective, their outcome is completely dependent on the individuals scoring them and their opinions. In the state of Colorado, the classes are combined for spirt. So our girls are competing against 1A/2A/3A schools, for a total of 30 teams that they are competing against. Although we didn’t get the outcome we were hoping for, these girls put their everything into this sport. This season all odds have been stacked against them. From injuries, to illnesses, to families emergencies and so many other unexpected circumstances. These girls performed a routine that they learned in two months, that they had to completely change two days before the competition. The passion, commitment, and dedication that these girls show for this sport is unmatched, and for that we couldn’t be any prouder. These girls performed an amazing routine despite all the opposition they have faced and overcame. These girls will take this experience and come back even stronger next year. We didn’t leave state with a trophy this year, but these girls left their hearts on the mat and had so much fun doing it. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the Trinidad Miner Cheerleading Program.💙📣
