Zerbe Township Rod and Gun Club

The Zerbe Rod and Gun Club allows public fishing at the dam from dawn until dusk. When the proximity lights on the building turn on, it’s time to go home. Once again, our cameras picked up on people who were there tonight after dark.

Some people just feel entitled that they can be allowed to be there whenever they want and that is not the case.

At this stage of the summer, it’s pretty dark by 8:30 PM and time to be out off the property. Once again, Dave Heim and I had to go see who was there and what they were doing.

There are plenty of signs that tell about the welcome hours for the public, although people will ignore that and stay past what is permitted.

We have a really nice security system in place with 12 cameras in use. They work very well. 

Fishing is permitted during the open and extended Trout season from DAWN UNTIL DUSK.

More trash left behind, this was laying in one of our porta johns. People love to fish here, then they leave their trash behind for others to pick up. A real sportsman would not do this.

Last Saturday, June 27th, the Pennsylvania Game Commission conducted a Hunter Safety Program at the club. We had about 19 young people signed up, it was a nice event. The club provided hot dogs, chips, and a soda for who ever wanted it, too. Hunter safety is an important part of our sporting future, many thanks to those who helped make this happen and to the attendees who made the effort to be there for the class.

Fish-for-Free Days
Sunday, May 24, 2026 and Saturday, July 4, 2026

Fish-for-Free Days allow anyone (resident or non-resident) ​to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways on the designated days with NO FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED (Trout/Salmon and Lake Erie permits are also NOT required). All other fishing regulations still apply.​

Fish-for-Free Days are great ways for families to “catch” the fun of fishing!

The trout pond at the Zerbe Rod and Gun Club will be open for the Pennsylvania Fish for Free days too!

Memberships! We are always very happy to have people renew or begin new memberships.

The first year cost is $35, then $25 per year thereafter.

Youth membership is for anyone under age 16, the cost is just $5.00 per year.

Membership privledges include use of the shooting ranges for pistols and ri**es. Shooting after 9:00 AM please.

Our facilities are open to public use from dawn to dusk. This means NO NIGHT FISHING anytime. We have had people break this rule, signs are posted. We ask that the general public respect the rules, thank you.

Our club is very active and we strive to make improvements to the pond, the shooting ranges, and our club building and grounds.

We recently installed a comprehensive security system with 12 active cameras, it gives us a great view of the property.

Thank you to the public that helps support us, please keep in mind that we are very pleased to have our members on the books. We look forward to new memberships too.

Membership application cards are available at Baits, Barrels, and Bows in Trevorton See Billy Scott at the store, he is our club president. We also have membership cards posted on the bulletin board on the porch of the clubhouse.
