Long Post!! If youβre motivated by it then itβs worth it! βοΈβ€οΈπ©
This time Last year (October) I was sleepy, unhappy at work, feeling miserable with my swelling issues, had lost some of my mobility, endurance, and flexibility. While it was one of the best years of my life, I was was not addressing my health. It was one of my most ever self satisfying years! πIn those moments where I was crossing off goals and bucket list items, I was struggling to get motivated on ME!!
Fast forward to when I decided to join Elevated Fitness LLC on January 1st, 2024β¦ I started learning how to βshow up for me!β My husband has been my biggest support when I set that alarm for 3:40am everyday to get to the gym, and hopped in bed at 7:00pm. My squirrelly brain had never slept like that in my life. For 25 years I have stayed up until 2-3am, and got up at 7:00am full force ahead! I spent hours getting ready for work, putting my make- up on, and getting myself together, because thatβs what made me feel good. I decided to do things different this year. I stopped putting myself together as much so I could spend that time working on me.. π‘entered here!!
Guess what, it worked!!
I canβt tell you there was one thing that I have done that just made it happen. π€·ββοΈThereβs no magic answer. I have tried to find different things to switch it up every month so that I could keep going! I have given myself small challenges, even if it was just for one week of different things to try to stick to. Small goals or small intentions for the week! The thing that I found the most beneficial for me was joining the six week challenge at Elevated! I couldnβt believe it was working!! I loaded the Lose It! app to track my intake, and tried to keep my protein around 130g a day. Letβs talk about how you have to really shut everyone around you down for six weeks straight in order to work on yourself and build that Drive! That part is tough and no one talks about it! Knowing that I had to get up at 3:40 AM to make it to the gym and still handle my business during the day, was just something that I started to become accustomed to. I think I drove there with one eye ποΈ open half the time.
I added Yoga to the mix around the 6th week, to get myself something new when the challenge ended because again I was constantly looking for something new. The yoga helped me center myself and really focus on showing up. I canβt even explain to you how it increased my mobility, but if youβre not doing yoga, youβre cheating yourself!! It helped that I had like-minded women on the same path and goals as me working out next to me every day.
There are always going to be setbacks! I was sick this entire week and I felt like I was cheating myself. But I have learned that there is always a new day when you wake up to reset and restart! So if you see me out, and Iβm not fixed up, my hair is a mess, my make up is gone, just know that I am no longer worried about that! Iβm more worried about getting to the gym on time π©βοΈπ I will take the freckled faced, unmade up healthy version of me any day, over the lady on the left! Go show up for yourself and head over to Elevated Fitness to get it done!! β
