Hey guys the new order of Glo-Tec worm’s arrived today at the shop. These worms all glow and are deadly on walleyes on the Detroit River. Stop by The Bait and Tackle Box and pick up a pack and see for yourself. One of the best guides on the river runs these exclusively and catches limits regularly.

Well the fishing on the river and Lake Erie is on fire. The Trenton Channel is giving up easy limits of beautiful walleyes as is the area east of Grosse Ile and west side of Celeron. Mid river and upper river from Wyandotte to the Ambassador Bridge is also hot with easy limits coming up there too. Hot set ups are 3/4-1oz jigs with antifreeze, black, purple, fire tiger, and pink the best colors. Pimp Daddy, wonderbread, Royal Blitz, Mackerl Ice, Blue Ice and Black Diamond Fin-S and Wyandotte worms being the best colors. Stop by the shop and get all your jigging supplies. Also, we have new custom jigging rods built by a local rod builder with the shop logo on them. All I can say is they are “sweet” lol. I’ve fished Lake Erie for three straight days trolling Domka’s custom bandits and Perfect 10’s and caught 3 man limits each day. Lots of 3-6lb walleyes from shallow water 12ft deep out to the Ohio line in 25ft depths. Looking for that one big walleye for the Spring Bash but just couldn’t find her. Our biggest walleye was 6lbs. Bash ends Sunday morning, so running out of time. Grant’s team took 3rd place last Saturday in the big tournament fishing Holliday Beach with a 6lb average for their 6 walleyes. That area has been hot all Spring. We have all the hot custom bandits and deep Husky Jerks for trolling so stop by the shop and we’ll show you what you’ll need for a successful day on the water

What a week. The river is on fire and so is the lake. Like Jerry Hinton says, “ If you can’t catch any walleyes right now, you might as well take up golfing” lol.Jerry and his crew took 24 walleyes on Wednesday jigging the east side of Gross Isle with 3/4oz jigs and Pimp Daddy Fin-S minnows tipped with a minnow. Real nice size too with a lot of 20-27 inch fish. I fished with my two buddies Steve Gardiner and Dennis Kovacs on Thursday and we caught our 18 walleyes just east of Calf Island and our hottest set up was a 1oz Chrome Fruity Pebbles Wal-E-Gat-R jig and a Wonderbread Wyandotte Worm. Also a 1oz anti-freeze jig and the oldie but goodie plain brown Wyandotte Worm. We also tipped our jigs with minnows too. Stop by the shop and get your jigging supplies. We carry great minnows at $6 bucks a scoop and all the great colors of Wyandotte worms and Fin-S minnows. The one pic is of the boats turning into Elizabeth Park this morning at 5am. Walleye fever at it’s best. Other pic is east side of Calf. Have a great week

When I’m not working on Fridays and Saturdays at The Bait and Tackle Box I’m usually out fishing on Lake Erie trolling crankbaits or fishing the river jigging for walleyes. I usually fish with two good friends, Steve Gardiner and Dennis Kovacs. Here are some pics of nice walleyes we’ve caught trolling the last few weeks. Today was a great day with 29 walleyes up to 6.6lbs. Kept our 3 man limit (18). Fished in 12ft of water just north of Stony Point. Saw a lot of nets going in the water from other boats too. The river is on fire too, from the Trenton Channel to the Belle Isle bridge and most spots in between. The new Lunker City Mackeral Ice and Royal Blitz have been hot. You can find these at the Bait and Tackle Box as we are all stocked up along with great walleye minnows and jigs. Tipping jigs with minnows is what’s really working now. I’ll give weekly updates on the walleye fishing to keep you updated on what’s going on
