North Carolina Deer Hound Challenge

Last night was our 2026 NC Deer Hound Challenge Awards Banquet. We got to recognize some amazing hounds and houndsmen last night. We had the privilege of inducting 4 more hounds men in the NC Deer Hound Hall of Fame (Dwight Sholar, Woody Corbett, Buster Corbett, and Al Boone) Woody and Stan’s Bobo was the 2026 NC Deer Hound of the Year and the Boundary Road Bandits came out on top in the KOY. We want to thank JJ’s family, Trigger, Dewayne Lee, and Squirrel for the amazing food! All of the food was top notch! We want to thank our sponsors Pride Dog Feed, Value Pak, Outdoor Dog Supply, H&H Farm Supply, Timber and Shore, Low Ten Outfitters, BKB Sports, and all
the hunters that participated this year! We thank God for such a fun and safe year. Thank you to all the Hunting Clubs and people that make these events so fun and family friendly. It is because of you we can showcase good houndsmen and good hounds.

Here are the final results from the NC Deer Hound Challenge. Review the points to ensure all of this is right. We had a great year with some amazing hounds, kennels, and running. All of the hunts did a great job and we want to thank everyone that participated. We will hold a banquet soon, so be on the look out for that announcement. Congrats to BOBO on a much deserved HOY title.

Thanks Woody, Luke, and Tyler for joining. Great talk and some strong wisdom from a veteran in the sport! They have had a great year and it has been some awesome competition. We can't wait to see what unravels this weekend with a field full of great hounds! Lets get ready to rumble!

Here is the map for Best of the Best 2026. Breakfast will be available for purchase at the Civic Center starting at 5:00. Lunch will be available starting at 11 AM. Judges need to be there by 5:30 to eat and judges meeting to immediately follow. If you have not verified your numbers please do so with Will Sutton before the hunt. (252)-665-1439.
