Part 2 of the 1999 Ford F-150 4.6 engine swap is here.

In this video, we finally get the seized 4.6L engine pulled out of the F-150 and start getting ready for the replacement engine going in. The donor engine is a 4.6L from a 1999 Crown Victoria, so we’ll be working through what needs to be swapped over, checked, and lined up to make it work in the truck.

This build is a real-world engine swap, not a perfect shop setup. We’re learning, fighting bolts, dealing with differences between the truck and Crown Vic setup, and getting this F-150 one step closer to running again.

Follow along as we keep pushing through the swap and bring this truck back to life.

Welcome to Part 1 of the engine swap series on this 1999 Ford F-150 4.6L V8. In this video, we’re kicking off the project, going over what we’re working with, and starting the teardown process to get this truck ready for the replacement engine.

This series will cover the real process of swapping a 4.6L engine in an older F-150 — the good, the bad, and the frustrating parts that come with working on a 25+ year old truck. I’ll be showing the steps, problems, workarounds, tools, and lessons learned along the way.
