⚽💙 A Reminder to All of Our Soccer Families…

Sometimes, in the excitement and emotion of a soccer game, we forget that there are kids on the field who are doing their very best. And sometimes, the person wearing the referee uniform is one of those kids, too.

At Trenton Soccer Association and Edgewood Premier FC, we want our fields to be a place where children feel encouraged, supported, and excited to be part of the game. That includes our players AND our young referees.

Many of our referees are still learning, just like the players they’re officiating. They’re building confidence, making decisions under pressure, and learning from their mistakes. It takes courage to step onto that field with a whistle, especially knowing that adults may question every call.

Before you yell at a referee, ask yourself how you would feel if it were your child standing there. ❤️

We all want what’s best for our kids. We want them to learn, grow, compete, and succeed. But the example we set from the sidelines matters just as much as anything happening on the field.

⚽ Know the Game. Respect the Game.

We strongly encourage ALL coaches, players, parents, and family members to take the time to familiarize themselves with the Laws of the Game.
‼️ Understanding the rules helps everyone better appreciate the decisions made on the field and recognize that *not every call we disagree with is an incorrect call.*

Even experienced referees aren’t perfect, and mistakes are part of the game at every level. Our young referees deserve the same patience, encouragement, and opportunity to learn that we give our players.

Please remember that behind every jersey, every whistle, and every decision is a person who deserves kindness and respect. There is already a significant shortage of referees - let’s not discourage our young ones that are learning!

Let’s set an example both at our home fields and as visitors to other fields!

**ATTENTION ANYONE COMING TO OUR FIELDS**

Dogs are always welcome at our park. However, PLEASE be respectful to our fields and the all kids that play here. Please DO NOT let your dog dig holes anywhere on our fields and make sure you are cleaning up after your dog. We don’t need any unnecessary injuries happening to anyone or anyone stepping in the p**p you are leaving behind. We also do not need our facility equipment to be damaged due to the holes.

Please consider this a warning. If you are seen not following our rules, you will be asked to leave and not return with your pet.

Thanks for your continued support for our players and please have a safe remainder of the season!

The FC Cincinnati Crew is here and getting ready for our players!

Please park in the gravel parking lot tonight! We need to keep the grass area up by the upper fields clear of cars to provide enough space for our camp. (Reminder that any unauthorized vehicles parked along the driveway by the Concession Stand are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense. If you do not have a blue parking tag, you are subject to being towed.)

Upon arrival, please have the players go to the FC Cincinnati tent to check in and get their shirt!

😢 Unfortunately, we received word today that Gary the Lion is unavailable to attend camp. His appearance is always based in availability for camps and unfortunately, he has a conflict tomorrow.

💙⚽️🧡FC CINCINNATI YOUTH CAMP — REGISTRATION HAS BEEN RE-OPENED!

We have great news! Registration has been RE-OPENED for tomorrow’s FC Cincinnati Youth Camp at Duke Fields Park!

And we are especially excited that our youngest soccer players get to join in on the fun! 🥳⚽️ Camp is open to players ages 3–14, and ALL players will participate from 5:30–7:00 PM!

Please disregard the separate age-group times currently shown on the registration page. ALL players, ages 3–14, will attend camp from 5:30–7:00 PM.

Players will have the opportunity to train in a fun and challenging environment with FC Cincinnati Alumni players and coaching staff, with sessions designed by FCC Soccer in the Community and Academy staff.

• Age-specific technical and game-like training
• Opportunity for male players who excel to potentially be invited into the FC Cincinnati Player Pathway

🚨 IMPORTANT PARKING NOTICE — PLEASE READ 🚨

Effective immediately, vehicles parked near the concession stand without a BLUE PARKING TAG WILL BE TOWED at the owner’s expense by No Limit Towing.

This area is NOT general parking and must remain accessible for authorized vehicles and, most importantly, emergency personnel.

We have had an increasing number of vehicles parking in this area, creating congestion and making it difficult to safely access the fields. In an emergency, every second matters, and EMS, fire, or other emergency vehicles cannot be delayed because the drive is blocked or congested.

🔵 Blue parking tag = permitted to park in this area
🚫 No blue parking tag = please use designated general parking

Coaches: If you need a blue parking tag, please reach out to a board member so we can get one to you.

We don’t want anyone’s vehicle towed, so please help us spread the word to grandparents, family members, friends, and anyone else who may be coming to the fields.

💙🩶 We are so lucky to have all of our volunteers - from board members to coaches giving their time for the benefit of our players.

Do you know who doesn't get enough credit in youth sports?

The leaders behind the organizations.

The presidents and VPs.
The treasurers and coordinators.
The board members
The volunteers.

They certainly take a lot of heat, don't they?
But do they get the accolades they deserve, too?

Because the truth is...
There is no season without these invididuals who step up.
There are no funds raised for equipment and rent and fees.
There are no schedules to download.
There are no refs or umps scheduled to show up.
There is no gym/field/ice time secured.
There is no food at the concession stand.
There are no uniforms to wear.
There is no game location to check in the app.
There is no communication to keep parents in the loop.

There is NONE of that..... if we don't have the support of these people who step up and volunteer their time to make it happen.

In youth sports you hear a lot of the complaints about how things could be done better.

Heck I'm sure many of these leaders will be the first to admit there's always room to grow.

But for our kids to be able to play the sports they love, we need people behind the scenes willing to volunteer their time to make it happen.

Is it always perfect?
No.
But do we always need people to step up and try?
Yes.

So if there's someone behind the scenes who helps make your athlete's season possible...
Don't forget to thank them.
