We are incredibly proud to officially launch the ECYLL Green Whistle Program! 💚
We want to make sure all parents, coaches, and spectators understand the important message on the field:
If their whistle is GREEN, they are UNDER 18. 🟢🥍🥅
These young referees are an essential part of our league, taking on the responsibility to learn and grow in a challenging role.
This program is all about:
✅ Recognizing & Supporting Our Youth Officials: These are young people from our own lacrosse community learning to lead. ✅ Creating a Safe Learning Environment: Ensuring a respectful and positive atmosphere for every official to develop their skills.
As a league, we are committed to providing the same support, patience, and encouragement to our youth referees that we provide to our young players. Youth officials will make mistakes, but they are here to learn. 📗🤓 Your support from the sidelines is vital.💚
How you can support:
1️⃣ Be Patient: Give youth officials the space to learn and correct mistakes.
2️⃣ Positive Encouragement Only: Please focus on cheering for your team and save critical comments.
3️⃣ Lead by Example: Show your players what respect looks like for all game-day personnel.
