TCU is a Co-Ed, semi- competitive Ultimate Disc league, open to ALL SKILL LEVELS. Traverse City Ultimate is a semi-competitive co-ed Ultimate Frisbee community in Northwest Michigan. We are based in Traverse City, but we have many players who travel from around NW MI to come play. We also cater to some players who schedule their summer vacations around TC Ultimate's summer league! We currently hol

d spring, summer and fall leagues, in addition to a competitive tournament (Great Lakes Greatest) in August. Our goal is to promote and grow the sport of Ultimate Frisbee and its focus of fun, player-officiated athletics that holds at its core the values of good-sportsmanship, called "Spirit of the Game". The league is open to any ability level and age (while generally 14+). For new players, the league holds learning clinics in addition to current players being very helpful in teaching skills to people new to the sport. We have players in the league who before they started playing had never thrown a Frisbee before! Come try it out. You can watch, or jump in and give it a go. It's great exercise, a great way to have a lot of fun, and an awesome way to meet new friends in Northwest Michigan! Summer League 2021 will run Tuesdays at 6:30pm from May 25th - August 3rd. Registration online is required by May 21st to participate. Pick up happens regularly at the Civic Center. Please follow and turn on notifications for this page to see when pick up is happening!

Great Lakes Okayest Day 2 Recap!

Those who attended the tournament know that only one could be crowned the Okayest. We had a full team win the tournament, we even had a spirit winner, but only one individual reigned supreme above the rest of the players.

Clara Deforge AKA Badger was the individual who earned the title, The Okayest!

She not only played her heart out, but she proved without a shadow of a doubt that she is the Okayest!

📋Did you see her Bingo Card?! She literally maxed everything out. (Squares stack to a maximum of 5)
🎤 She was the only one who came to karaoke.
🔥 She jumped through a rolling hula hoop that is rumored to have been on fire!
✨ AND on top of everything else, she embodied the whimsical spirit of this tournament.
🚗 She drove all the way from Minnesota to join us. Everyone give her a cheer!

Highlights from Great Lakes Okayest Day 1

Shout out to Diskolaris Getxo for inspiring the mini games that you see pictured. The team sorting puzzle and the other bonus team games were a huge success this year!

There is still one more day of the tournament left. Tomorrow is the semi-final and finals championship matches. Come show support for your local ultimate frisbee community tomorrow morning at 9 am at the keystone soccer fields! You won't want to miss the epic showdown in the finals!

Your summer league champions have been crowned! Huck it Like it's Hot takes the glory! They had an absolute showdown with Pizza Taco Tigers for the championship. It was exhilarating to watch and probably even more exhilarating to play in. Congrats to everyone on an amazing summer.

Also, congrats to Anna and Hope and the rest of our most spirited players for winning spirit awards this season! Their positivity is a beacon of light in our lives 🤩

Great Lakes Okayest is in the headlines?! Traverse City Ultimate is the best frisbee community in the universe?

Okay, perhaps only one of these statements are considered real news... But I'll never say which 😜

Huge thanks to the Good Day crew for having me at the 9&10 News room. I really did have such an amazing experience getting to talk about our favorite sport in the world, and highlight what makes our community ultimate group so special here in Traverse City, MI.

And guys, I just want to say, talking on camera is so hard!! Idk how they do that everyday! Such incredible and talented people at 9 and 10, I am so grateful for the experience, I hope they do end up putting together a team and coming to play with us sometime 😊

Summer League Finals (and Potluck) will be held Tuesday August 4th at Keystone Soccer Fields.

For those competing: We wish you the best of luck in your games, and hope you have had a great summer playing with us!

For those competitively eating: We hope your day is full of merriment. We hope you fill your bellies with the finest assortment of chips, salsa, and barbecue chicken 😋

Please bring a pal. Bring the fam. Bring anyone who likes to hang out and eat food. It's a community outing after all! AND! Who doesn't like free food?! You don't even have to play frisbee, just come for the vibes and the food. It's literally a win-win-win situation.

Anyhow, that's all I've got. Hope to see you all on Tuesday.

Highlights from our annual TCU Beach Day yesterday ⛱️

Thank you to everyone who came out and played in the sand with us. We had so much fun and we hope you did too!

TCU Beach Day is POSTPONED! (Until further notice)

Outside smells like burnt tree. This is very much not good for breathing. We are sad to not be able to soak up the sun with the best frisbee community on the planet.

Never to fear! For it is not all smoky skies and stinky clouds! One of these days we shall schedule a beach festivity. A glorious occasion where the light of the sun shines directly into our spirits and makes us whole again.

Today is not that day. We will inform you all when the beach day will be rescheduled for... whenever we hammer out a new date. Until then, stay safe, breathe goodly, and have an exceptional day.

Things are heating up (literally), so we have a game plan to keep cool: frosty bevs with our sponsor Earthen Ales after the games today!

We will have our summer league games as scheduled today. As always, bring what you need to have a happy successful day: cleats, WATER, sun protection, reversible jersey, the essentials.

Another note: we have taken precautions to make sure we are staying safe out in the heat. Teams will be allowed additional timeouts and water breaks, please consult with your captains for any questions.

Games start at 6:30, show up early to warm up with your team. Other than that, let's have a rockin good time today and show support to our beloved sponsor in the post game hours. See ya there! 🌞
