Determine what measurement tool(s) will motivate you and not squash your health and fitness goals. Consider putting out a smaller pair of jeans, using a measuring tape, journaling on how you feel, body fat loss, increasing the number of push ups you can do, lowering your resting heart rate or blood pressure or any other method that has MEANING for you and DOES NOT cause you anxiety or make you feel like a failure. www.fittchick.com

As a personal trainer, people say to me all the time that they hate to do X,Y or Z (just fill in the blank). My response is, then WHY do it? If you've given an activity a fair shot, say 4-6 weeks and you get a migraine just thinking about having to do it one more time, DON"T! Why set yourself up for ultimate failure and then give the inevitable, defeating, self-berating conversation of the "I Should Of's." There are so many options out there to help you reach your health and fitness goals. Go explore! Have fun with it! Discover what you LOVE to do or at least like. Be Your Passion! Need a sweet fix? As a personal trainer I like sharing healthy food ideas, especially when they're a quick, sweet yummy treat! The kids will love these too. Enjoy! Let me know what you think.

"Peanut Butter Chocolate Covered Bananas"

Ingredients: Bananas, Natural Peanut butter, Dark Chocolate

Slice bananas into slices, just like you would as if you were putting it into your morning oatmeal. Spoon peanut butter onto a slice of banana and place another slice of banana on top (just like a sandwich). Place all of the banana sandwiches on a tray and put in the freezer for 15-20 minutes . Melt dark chocolate according to directions. Take bite size banana sandwiches out of the freezer. I find it easier to spoon the chocolate over the treats however, feel free to experiment with using toothpicks and dippings them. Re-freeze and take out when you need a satisfying sweet treat!

New Years Salutations! Made a resolution? Know the secret to success to KEEP it and make it your reality? Make a plan; start by setting a goal, make it realistic, take note of the end result that you want, list the steps your going to take, recognize hurdles and address on how to tackle them, then the most important piece take ACTION! There will be challenges, set backs, have a plan on how to get back on track. Know what motivates you and give yourself reminders..daily if needed. Surround yourself with supporters, be a supporter. Believe in yourself. I wish you and yours a healthy & happy New Year.
