Killed bears on the first and last day of the Michigan Baldwin black bear season in 2026. Congrats to both Ricky and Gary on their archery bears!!
Thank you to Platinum Scents for supplying us with a great Michigan made product. New to us this year, t didn’t take long for us to notice how effective it was.
Also thanks to our friend Dan Nickerson for helping get Gary’s bear out last week.
Forget summer, it is the most wonderful time of the year in Northern Michigan!! 🍂🦆🐻🦌🍃
Well nothing like the last 5 minutes, of the last day of the season!! But I got it done on state land!!
I want to give a special shoutout to a couple of my pals. Josh from 231 Guide Service and Colton who you all know from the store!
These guys both knew what was going on with my schedule behind the scenes that took me out of town a couple times and but both stepped up and continued to keep hunting spots all prepped for me.
Josh had a pretty decent spot so we focused on that one and he topped that place off every day before he went to work!!
Both guys worked so hard and picked up where I couldn’t to help make this happen. Thank you guys!!
Also thanks to Ravin Crossbows for the amazing R10X and G5 Outdoors broad heads. I sat in that tree almost every day with the exception of the pumpkin party on Sunday and when the chance came that gear got the job done. Double lung shot at just under 18 yards it ran just 32 yards and that was it!
Also thanks to Mikowski's Meat Market & Deli for the great skin out job and processing!!
Also thanks to Calvin at Scent Hunter Tracking, who although was not needed for the 32 yard track, but who I know would have been there, had I needed him!
Thanks to my boys for coming out to help with the 582 yard drag through the swamp, but honestly Josh’s 6 foot tall inseam and stride did most of the work.. lol
Fun season, I will pick the winners of the bear contest this weekend and no I do not qualify for the contest. 🙂
