Excited for the day Itay returns to America for training!
Anyone interested please reach out! This is something I can organize if there is a want or need!
Itay Gil is back in Germany… finally!
Itay Gil is an officer (Captain/Major) of the Israel Defense Forces. He initially served with the paratroopers and later became a member of the elite unit Yamam (comparable to GSG 9). There, he was not only an operational fighter but also the chief instructor for close quarters combat (CQC). Overall, he has many years of operational experience, at times involving multiple deployments per day—up to the present day. Gil is considered a representative of “reality-based” Krav Maga, heavily shaped by real anti-terror operations. He is the founder of the Protect Krav Maga system, which is based on military practice.
His approach focuses on stress resilience, simple and robust techniques, and application under real-world conditions (weapons, multiple attackers, etc.). To this day, he trains the Israeli Border Police, undercover units, and international special forces (e.g., SWAT, as well as units from other countries).
PROTECT is still involved in protection and training programs for high-ranking politicians and public figures.
Itay Gil is regarded as one of the “OGs” and a key representative of modern military Krav Maga. He has further developed Krav Maga toward a more tactical combatives system (less “sport,” more operational reality).
His appearance in the documentary “Human Weapon” attracted worldwide attention.
Itay Gilcis International Krav Maga Director of FIMA and Director of the International Military Combatives Organization (IMCO).
This weekend, Itay will address the sensitive topic of knife defense, specifically knife attacks/situations against a wall and on the ground.

For the first time, a public discussion round with instructors and students—across different styles—will take place after the seminar. The seminar is open not only to all associations but also to all styles—especially MMA practitioners and representatives of different Krav Maga approaches are warmly invited to explore Itay’s method and participate in the discussion.
