Jeff Griffith started the JMG Ranch in 1994 with three horses: Ebony's Shadow, Music's Apache Kid and Dust In My Eyes. They moved to their current location in Travelers Rest, SC in 1996. Nestled in the foothills of SC, the ranch has blossomed into a full-fledged working horse ranch. Now over twenty horses of many breeds reside at the ranch, the predominant breeds being AQHA and APHA. ltiple challenges in their early history, the ranch has always raised its stock with one guiding rule: "Safety First." The first event the JMG Ranch hosted was a youth group of 25 people from a local church. This spurred Jeff and Melody to reach out further into the community, and in the years since, thousands of children and adults have experienced the joy of horseback riding. Our activities extend from group trail rides to regular lessons to Mountain Escape trips. The JMG Ranch continues to provide new adventures in camping, riding lessons, trail rides, and community events. The mystery and beauty of God's mountain country will create a tranquil yet exhilarating journey.

Just a quick update. The JMG ranch is fine. We had several trees fall down and knocked a lot of fences down. All horse are doing well. One building had a tree fall on it - little damage.
I have had a lot of trouble with the travel to and from the ranch. Was stranded in Hendersonville on Friday night. Had several overflowing rivers to cross but God allowed safety. All the family is well. Currently without water and no way to communicate. Found this hot spot allowing me to communicate for the first time since the storm. Seeing the damage all around is astounding. We are definitely blessed. God is good!!
