There's no sole determinant of wellbeing, but physical health is one crucial element.
Jospeh Pilates, creator of the eponymous method of physical fitness, believed that emotional health was inextricably linked to physical wellbeing. He taught that Pilates is about gaining mastery of your mind and in turn control over your body.
This week we’re exploring healthy practices one can engage to:
- Encourage awareness of emotions ( both pleasant and unpleasant),
- Develop effective coping strategies for managing stress,
- Adapt well to changes and uncertainty
- Increase resiliency in moving through challenges,
- Creating positive relationships (with self, others, God…)
Exercise, whether Pilates or another form of attentive movement, is fundamental to good health. We’re made to move!
