Open Letter to Encompass Insurance

To whom it may concern,

I have been a customer with my home and auto with encompass for over 30 years.

During those 30 years we have had very minimal claims and none in the last 10 years.

Your quote this year reflected a 40% premium increase. The only way I could interpret this is that you no wanted my business. After quoting my policy with other company’s (who did want my business) I had no choice but to change companies. They were also highly rated insurance companies. There prices were equivalent to your prices from 2022/23.

Even though you feel no loyalty to me, I feel obligated to let you that your pricing was out of line with other insurance companies and there was no choice but to leave encompass. From what my
agent told me was that your company has been sold twice in the past several years. That is no excuse to try and raise my premium by 40%!

What your actions did was show me you no longer wanted my policy. After 30 years, yes 30 years of having policy’s with you a change was essential. I hope you learn to value long time customers and are able to meet their needs without an unsubstantiated, large raise in their premiums. From what you have shown me you do not care about your long term customers.

I wish you the best with your new, improved business model. This model does not include me- it would have been easy just to not let you know what happened and go to my new insurance - but after 30 years of a business relationship I felt I owed it to you.

PS- I wasn’t able to find a email address to send this electronically so I both mailed a copy to your headquarters and posted a “open letter to Encompass” on my facebook accounts.
