🏆 CHAMPIONS 🏆

Our Ares middle team handled business today, going 2-0 and bringing home the Battleground Circuit championship.

Proud of how this group competed, stayed together, and finished the job. They earned this one.

Our high school group battled too, finishing 1-1 in two competitive games. Game one, they came back from 15 down to get the win. Game two was a back-and-forth fight against a very tough team, and we came up just a few points short late.

Good day of basketball for Ares. Keep building.

Every game is another step.

Tonight didn’t end the way we wanted.

We battled back from a 16-point deficit and gave ourselves a chance in the final minutes before falling 57-52.

There were plenty of positives to build on, and plenty we’ll learn from. That’s what weekends like this are for.

The job isn’t finished.

Tomorrow brings two more opportunities against quality competition.

NEXT CHAPTER.

No easy path.

Three games. Three quality opponents. One more opportunity to compete in front of college coaches.

We learned a lot in Las Vegas. We also left knowing exactly how close we are. In our final game, we erased a 17-point deficit and had a chance to win it in the closing seconds.

Now it’s time for the next chapter.

2-0 TO OPEN LAS VEGAS.

Ares Basketball came to compete.

Game 1: Ares 44, Like Mike Huskies 42
Game 2: Ares 52, Colorado Clutch 39

In the first game, this group was down 7 with 90 seconds left and still found a way to win. That’s toughness. That’s composure. That’s belief.

This team didn’t fold. They stayed together, made plays, and finished the job.

Strong start in Vegas, but we’re not done yet.

Built in the classroom. Built on the court.

Day 1 is locked in.

Ares Basketball opens Bigfoot Hoops Las Vegas Live on Friday, July 10 with two Pool I matchups at Valley High School.

College coaches, we’ll be competing in the Boys Certified 17U/11th/12th Grade division with a high-academic roster ready to compete.

Ares JV and our middle school group competed this weekend at the tournament held Saturday April 25, 2026. Our youngsters first time competing in a D2/D1 bracket which helped us understand what they need to work on. After these two loses, their start of the season with a respectable 4-2. On the other end our JV team went 1-1 keeping their season record at a 500 average.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Easter Eve Open Run.

The gym was competitive, the energy was right, and players in the Classes of 2026–2028 had the chance to show what they bring to the floor.

Alexandros Goumenidis | 2027 PG

Evaluation run from this past weekend.

Alex brings grit on defense, high IQ, unselfish play, ball movement, and a team-first approach every time he steps on the floor. The kind of guard who competes, makes reads, and helps winning basketball happen.

Welcome back to Ares Basketball, Diego ⚔️

Diego Gracia (Class of 2028 | Forward) continues to be part of the Ares family, and we’re excited to have him back in the program.

Diego brings size, effort, and a strong presence on the floor. As he continues his high school journey at Kimball, we’re looking forward to seeing his game keep growing and his confidence continue to build.

Even better, we get to keep the Gracia brothers in the program together.

Glad to have you back, Diego.
