Which runner do we go after !! We teach back runner if there is no chance to runner going to third being that he has to wait to see if lead runner went ..

When there is a man on first and you’re looking for outs all we need is a different motion or movement by the runner looking from there peripheral vision from the corner of our eye . Anticipation, Looking for a stumble , or hesitation, trying to get outs !

When runners on we are in anticipation mode that the ball will be thrown in the dirt ..Anticipating versus just reacting...

Man on first !! ( Fast runner )
Get your sign from coach / manager
Pitch and a location !!
He has left arm location right arm pitch . right arm is in reverse signage !
He firsts calls for a pick to hold hold hold step off ..
That’s thumb sign to pitcher
He then calls for a pickoff to first ! Pinky to relay to pitcher . Hold hold hold pick
Fast runner so then a slide step wiggle fingers to pitcher .. followed by 2 seem low and in.

We make sure outfield is set according to pitch and location we are calling ..
Also infield set accordingly..

Middle infielders are reading signs we make sure they are seeing them and shading accordingly.

All this prior to a pitch being delivered ..
