I know what you did last night...
Some people do it in bed, others in front of the TV, some people even do it in their office. The point is we all do it.
Yep, you guessed it. It’s procrastination - the same word I’ve been ranting about all week.
As you may have picked up I have a lot to say about procrastination because it’s run so much of my life.. and if I had to guess, I’d say it’s dictated much of yours as well.
So here’s my third piece of advice that’s helped me overcome the urge to procrastinate...
Find yourself an accountability accomplice.
Someone who will hold you accountable to your word, check in on your goals, and who will celebrate with you after you crush them.
You’ll find your less likely to procrastinate if you’ve told someone what you intend to do... and knowing that person may ask about your progress gives you more motivation to act. And the best part is you can do the same for them! Who knows.. you could be the one to change their whole life.
In regards to my accountability accomplice - I’m lucky because I’m dating the personal development n**i. Seriously. If Tony Robbins and Opera had a baby... a still don’t think they could keep up with
And yes, it makes me want to elbow him in the nose constantly, but at the end of the day I’m better for it.
Not only does he hold me relentlessly accountable to my word, he pushes me, every single day, outside of my comfort zone and urges me to settle for nothing less than the best version of myself.
Now I’m not saying you need to go find your own personal development n**i to succeed, I’m just saying find someone (it’s easier than you might think... if you just ask) who will check in on where you’re at in your to-do list for the day, or see how your goals are coming along.
Who knows! Your accountability accomplice could end up being the reason you defeat procrastination once and for all!
Are you and your accountability accomplice ready to join and I in the fight against procrastination?
