Just in time for supper....The great cow dog Ruby alerted us to this visitor this evening. He was inclined to charge her, but agile as she is, she managed to get him herded toward the garden before we could get her in the house to let him go on his way.

A good friend from cattle drive days. Roy was most noted among our crew for his poem "The Bra". A good man, a good cowboy, and a good citizen.

So, what have we been doing all winter? Monte has been thinking a lot about logging some big trees on our creek bottom, and he got started last week. This is the tree he felled this morning. It is about 125 years old, lots of good fir boards will come from it.
