After 32 years of coaching high school baseball, the time has come for me to step away from the game that has been such an important part of my life.
My journey took me through Bromfield, North Middlesex, Saint Bernard’s, and ultimately back to North Middlesex, where I was fortunate to finish my career. What began as an opportunity to coach a game I loved became one of the greatest blessings of my life.
I will always cherish the memories—the Opening Days, long practices, bus rides, team dinners, hard-fought victories, and even the difficult losses that taught lessons far greater than baseball. More importantly, I will remember the young men who passed through our program and the privilege of watching so many of them grow into outstanding husbands, fathers, military members, teachers, coaches, business owners, first responders, and community leaders.
I would also like to recognize the many assistant coaches who shared this journey with me throughout my career. Over three decades, I was fortunate to work alongside dedicated men who gave countless hours to our players and programs. Your knowledge, friendship, loyalty, and commitment helped shape every team I coached. While I may not be able to mention every name, please know that each of you left a lasting mark on our program and on me personally. The successes we achieved were never the result of one person, but rather the collective efforts of coaches who cared deeply about young people and the game of baseball.
To the parents who entrusted me with their sons, the administrators, athletic directors, boosters, volunteers, and community supporters who believed in our programs—thank you. Your support made every success possible.
A special thank you to my wife, Gail, who sacrificed countless evenings, weekends, and vacations so I could pursue my passion. She was the heart behind so much of what we accomplished and my greatest source of strength throughout this journey.
As I reflect on these 32 years, I realize that my greatest accomplishment was never measured in wins, tournament appearances, or championships. It was the relationships, lessons learned, friendships formed and memories shared along the way.
To every player, coach, parent, supporter, and friend who was part of this incredible journey—thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your lives. It has truly been the honor of a lifetime.
With heartfelt gratitude,
