North Shore Country Club - Senior Assistant Superintendent
NSCC opened in 1924 with a course designed by Allison, part of the Allison, C**t & MacKenzie firm. The classic course has been host to the U.S.Open and two U.S. Amateurs. The most recent televised tournament held was the Encompass Senior PGA Tour Championship from 2012-2014. Currently NSCC is ranked 14th in the state 2019 Golf Digest. North Shore plans to host the Western Amateur in 2023 and continues to be on the map for hosting major golf events.
We are proud to be a fully Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, recognizing the value North Shore C.C. contributes to the environment & community. We believe a healthy golfscape contributes to the game and the function of our planet's ecosystems -- our air, water, land, and life.
The North Shore C.C. grounds team not only provide high-level playing conditions, but conduct turf research trials to help improve playability, growing conditions, and overall sustainability. Research includes NTEP on-site bentgrass putting green trials, soil amendments, compost, biochar, and many plant health care inputs. Director of Agronomy, Dan Dinelli, emphasizes a strong environmental approach to each aspect of the golf course to enhance the ecological footprint to benefit the community. You will see many unique practices and learn why they are important as we work with leading scientists.
During the 2017 renovation, infrastructure was updated by using state of the art technology that stays in keeping with the original design, Architect Rick Jacobsen and Director of Agronomy Dan Dinelli, converted 19 greens to USGA recommended rootzones. Alongside the greens and fairways, all 74 bunkers were rebuilt with new drainage, white sand, and Better Billy Bunker liner.
North Shore C.C. is not your ordinary golf course facility. A strong family Membership who prides themselves in providing an attractive culture and safe, friendly environment. We are also ready to open our new unique short game area with a putting course. North Shore C.C. is also proud of its work/life balance it strives daily to maintain, ensuring all employees have the balance needed between work and their personal lives.
