So I could offer immediate feedback to my athletes after every rep leading to a constant seek of validation or I could come up with ways to allow them to explore their own solutions while subtly guiding them.

The first will result in a short term warm fuzzy feeling when the athlete and their parents praise me for paying attention to every detail.

The other will develop athletes with real confidence.

My job is not to make you feel good. My job is to make you good. That will take less of me and more of you.
