🚨LAST MINUTE DETAILS FOR SATURDAY🚨
✔️CHECK-IN
Open 6:30am - 9am. You can find the check-in tables outside the cafeteria and get your bib and shirt (if you ordered one). Day of Ride registration is available if you know someone that hasn't already signed up!
✔️START YOUR RIDE
You can head out anytime after 6:30am. This is due to daylight visibility of you, not you being able to see the road. It's been an issue with some close calls so please don't rush out early.
✔️WEATHER
Cool. Slight chance of rain (but who knows.. our weather is unpredictable). Bring your early spring/winter training gear, layers are supreme. Probably be dry during the ride but bring the rain gear just in case. Especially for the descents, which can be cold even on a warm summer day. Put that jacket on even if you think you don't need it.
✔️REST STOPS
Our rest stop coordinator guy has been hard at work. Food will be delicious, hot dogs at Elk Rock will be warm, rest stop volunteers will offer free smiles and cheers. In regards to unpredictable weather, we will make sure to provide warming stations for the cold (think propane fire pits). Check out the Cold Water Ridge Visitors Center while you are there offering a great view of the mountain perfectly framed by the giant window.
✔️Please be aware of the rest stop closure times and plan accordingly:
Coldwater Ridge VC @ 1:30pm
Elk Rock @ 2:30pm
Bridgeview @ 3:00pm
Pasta Feed @ 6pm
✔️SAG WAGONS
We will once again have Koelsch Communities (Gold/Black small bus) and the Southwest Washington YMCA (Teal small bus) assisting you if you need it. They will pick you up and get you back to the school if your bike breaks or you are exhausted or whatever. If you are off your bike when they drive by they will slow and/or stop to see if you need help.
✔️CAMPING
Camping is as usual. The camping option will be located in the grassy field just before the baseball field at the Toutle Lake High School. Camping will be on a first come, first served basis for spot availability. There will be plenty of room so don't fret. We will be on site at 3pm to get you situated. Please try to arrive by 9pm so people can sleep before the early morning adventure.
✔️PARKING
Do not park on the baseball or football fields. We will direct you to the right place.
✔️BRING A WORKING BIKE
We will have basic tools at the rest stops if you need to make an adjustment but we can't fix your bike if it's broken.
✔️DREWS GROCERY STORE
The local Toutle store called Drews Grocery has a new building! Now you'll have a place to grab any of your last minute needs.. hot food and a variety of drinks and snacks. And they have gas!!!
✔️COFFEE - a must!
Located in the same lot as Drews, Red Leaf Coffee will be open to fuel or refuel the riders and families.
✔️PASTA FEED
It's business as usual with our post-ride yummy pasta feed which is located in the Toutle Lake High School cafeteria. Our volunteers will be ready to feed your hungry bellies.
