Dear Lauridsen Ballet Centre Family,

As there are several of our family members out of state who are in increasing need of our support, both generally and with health issues, we have been weighing our options this year. We have made the difficult decision to move across the country to be closer to them and better support our family. Therefore, we have given notice that we will be resigning. Elijah's last class will be on January 15th. Almaliis' last class will be on January 31st.

We have the utmost faith in Xochi to shepherd the ballet program into the next era. We know she will continue to provide the quality training the studio has been known for for so long. We wish Wendi and Fly One Studios all the success in the world and know she will achieve her dream of making the studio a welcoming home for students of dance and aerial arts.

It has been our great honor to be part of this community of such amazing people. You have been our family, and we will miss you terribly. We will forever treasure the memories we have created together over the last half century.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything or just want to catch up. We would dearly love to stay in touch.

After Ballet 4/5 Summer Intensive dancers showcased their end of the program show, each dancer received their certificate along with flowers. As a united show of appreciation and gratitude, the dancers gathered around Ms. Xochi and presented her with their flowers. Thank you Ms. Xochi for all your hard work and dedication.

Getting their first pair of pointe shoes is a milestone every young ballet dancer dreams of. Ms. Xochitl held a special pointe shoe instruction class for all the dancers promoted to pointe. The excitement of stepping into pointe class for the first time is matched by the special tradition of learning to sew on their own ribbons. A special day for these dancers, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their dance journey.

❇️Registration has begun for the 2025 Summer Intensives.

🩰Students of ballet are part of a long artistic tradition. Dancers must understand much more about their bodies, stagecraft, musicality, and accompanying art forms than it is possible to learn in the short times allotted for class during the school year. For this reason, Ballet California & Lauridsen Ballet Centre have formed our summer intensive program which:

•enriches a dancer’s knowledge
•provides intensive training during the time of year when the student has the most time and energy
•facilitates the transition between one level of ballet training and the next.

🌟Every level in the summer intensive will culminate in a performance including a classical ballet presentation, student choreography, and, for levels 3 and up, a modern dance.

Donna from Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce recently visited our studio and met with Artistic Directors Diane Lauridsen and Elijah Pressman. Afterwards she and her granddaughter attended Ballet California's "The Nutcracker." Her granddaughter's raving review - “The Nutcracker filled me with joy. I thought it was fun to see the dancers perform. It was magical. The music was calm as the dancers jumped and soared across the stage with silent feet.”
