Finally after 2 misses I connect with a nice doe. The Chinese Rage did its job (after I sharpened them out of the box) Broke the opposite shoulder and went 40 yards. Bucks are already after does, things are heating up in the woods now!!

Sit #14 was a clean miss. I was sitting ass on the dirt and with her being a lot lower than me. I shot over her back. 3rd miss in my 25 years so not bad lol. I will get redemption. Sit #15 tomorrow morning 🦌🏹

So Expanded archery 2022 is in full swing. I’m 0-4 on my sits as of now. I’ve seen deer but I like to try for my target buck in September before laying does down. I don’t like to muck up my areas if I don’t have to. But we do have a friend on the board!! Congratulations Warren good meats!!! I’ll be sitting tomorrow afternoon on a Bachelor group that’s still together. The ring leader may punch a tag!

Hope everyone is enjoying their first week of Expanded Archery season! Bear season is starting to wind down with out any “shooter” Bears using the site. The 2 little ones are still hitting it regularly. Who knows what will show up for trapping season, we might still get lucky. The state finally got back to Corey about the age of his 2021 bear….she was 12 years old!!!! We figured 7-8 but never imagined 12. It will probably take him a long long time to top this one. Good luck and be safe out there with whatever you have going on.

A 2nd young bear showed up to the bait Saturday. These two have been hitting the site pretty much non-stop for the last 48hrs. Every time they leave and go down to the bog for a drink they are leaving a nice scent trail that leads back to the bait. Just a matter of time before “Daddy” crosses that trail and comes in for a snack🤞🏻. The smallest has a case of the “terrible twos” and has destroyed the bait site tag and is very interested in the cameras. Luckily so far it has just been sniffing and not chewing!

So I can finally tell y’all the good news. I was finally excepted as the newest Cervicide Field Staff member for Maine. They only take up to 2 people per state every year. And im in 🙂 Im excited to be part of this amazing hunting family and the perks that come along with it.

That didn’t take long. We set the Bear Site up on Saturday and last nights storm got this little guy up and looking for food. Definitely not a shooter but hopefully having action already is a sign of a busy season ahead.
