Topeka West Track Regional News from Friday!

The 4X800 Relay Team of Mark Wilkie, Elijah Phelps, Adrian Lehman and Sevon Covington ran a 15 second season best time of 8:23 and just missed qualifying for State!

Jayden Lindsey qualified for the Finals of the 200m dash and just missed qualifying for State with a 5th place finish!

The 4X400 Relay Team of Mark Wilkie, Jayden Lindsey, Sevon Covington and Adrian Lehman ran their best time of the season and just missed qualifying for State by 4 seconds!

I am so proud of how everyone on the Regional Team competed well yesterday with several season bests in relays, field events and running events. Just a few seniors so most will be back next year ready to take the next step in getting to the State Meet!!!!

Congratulations to our State Qualifier Rebecca Bearman, a senior, in the Shot Put!! She worked hard for 4 years and had 4 PR throws at Regional to qualify! Hard work, perseverance and patience in trusting the process does pay off!! Charger Strong!!

(Sorry for the delays in posts, it was a busy day at the double 5A and 6A Regional in Wichita.) Time to enjoy graduation weekend. 😁

Topeka West had some solid performance yesterday at the Joe Schrag City Championship. Medalists were Adrian Lehman 1st and Elijah Phelps 2nd in the 3200; Alesecio Batson 1st in the Triple Jump and Rebecca Bearman 3rd in the Shot Put!! We has several other season and personal bests on both the girls and boys sides. Great job Chargers!! Go to League next week!

On the girls side, Payton Rice 3rd in the 1600 and Rebecca Bearman 3rd in the Shot Put!

On the boys side, Alesecio Batson 1st in the Triple Jump; 4x100 Relay team of Trey Barr, Alesexio Batson, Jayden Lindsey and Joshua Nitsehke 1st; Adrian Lehman 2nd in the 3200; 4X800 Relay team of Mark Wilkie, Elijah Phelps, Jayden Sigle, and Adrian Lehman 3rd; and the 4X400 Relay team of Sevon Covington, Mark Wilkie, Elijah Phelps, and Adrian Lehman 3rd!

As a Team the Boys placed 3rd and the Girls placed 4th!
