Our establishment was recently inaugurated on January 11, 2024 with a primary aim to aid awareness and values for a healthy and sustainable living. Since inception we have offered various programs, lessons and minor events within the community to engage people in the practice of mindfulness meditation, healthy living with yogic practices and hosted seminars and parlances by generous Buddhist schol

ars and traditional medicine healers. Up until now, we have been primarily funding all these projects through our financial disposition and had been easing people in without any or much fees for participation. Apart from that we have had the honor to host some generous Buddhist scholars and expert facilitators who contributed by being part in some of our programs. Currently, Gelephu is located in a significant position for enhancing activities related to Dharma and awareness. As cited in the official Gelephu Mindfulness City Website;

“The Gelephu Mindfulness City is a Special Administrative Region in southern Bhutan, with a focus on mindfulness, sustainability, and harmony. In a world’s first, the Mindfulness City will be a unique setting, where development and growth co-exist in harmony with nature and mindfulness living. When completed, the Mindfulness City will be a showcase for sustainable and value-driven urban development for future generations.”

We were quite stoked when we first heard the news, as the plan to launch our wellness and meditation center was coincidental to the vision presented by His Majesty The 5th King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck on the 116th National Day.
