Tooele Racquet Sports

Tooele Racquet Sports This page is about being the central place for all news and information relating to tennis and racquetball in the Tooele Valley area. Let the games begin!

This page is dedicated to all of the tennis and racquetball players in the Tooele Valley area. Its purpose is to be the central place for all information and news related to both tennis and racquetball. It will encourage players to ask questions about their sport, and by doing so it will help players improve both their performance and enjoyment of their games through increased knowledge of the phy

sical and equipment aspects of their sport. Answers and information will be provided by Bob Haines, whose more than 40 years experience in competing, coaching, and equipment technology will be the foundation for that information. This page will help interested people follow local teams and local team fund raisers. It will inform them of tournaments and other social events, local equipment sales, and other topics of interest. Finally, this page will be a place for players to meet and interact with other local players.

ATTENTION! This message is for our amazing Stansbury tennis family - all of the players, parents, and fans. The program needs your help and support. From day one the proximity of the courts to the baseball field has created an occasional, potentially dangerous, situation where foul balls fly over the fences and land onto courts one and two. Tennis coaches have taken reasonable precautions to protect players, and we’ve been very fortunate so far that there hasn’t been any injuries - we want to keep it that way. The situation arises when there is a baseball game/practice and tennis activities scheduled at the same time. Doesn’t happen often, but with the tennis program expanding the threat will increase. Here’s how everyone can get involved and help: attached is a link to a petition that will be presented to the school board. Please sign the petition, submit it, and pass it along to everyone that would be interested. Thanks for you help and continued support.

WOW! Congratulatioms to everyone that competed at the Dominate Duo event at Stansbury yesterday. I haven’t seen most of you in a long time, and I was extremely impressed. It’s obvious that you’ve worked hard on your skills, and are dedicated to continued improvement. Your improvement is obvious, impressive, and inspirational. The competition was fierce, but everyone demonstrated good sportsmanship - all while having fun. I’m so proud of you all, and feel blessed to be associated with such a wonderful group of young adults. Continue to work hard, compete as often as possible, and I’ll see you on the courts soon. Love you all! 🎾😎

Where are all my high school tennis players? Everyone expresses a desire to improve and your hard work during practies, camps, and constant hitting with friends is admirable/inspiring and definitely shows improvement in your skills. However, your coaches have recognized and lamented for years that the one factor keeping us from jumping to the next level is the lack of competition experience. Sixteen season matches over two months isn’t enough to get you competitive with experienced tournament players. You have to play competitive events/matches. I understand that it’s difficult/inconvenient when you have to travel to far away places and spend the whole day there when you have so many responsibilities at home. That’s why it’s important to take advantage when an event is held in your back yard. Enough preaching to the choir - you get the idea. Here’s your golden opportunity: below is registration information to a USTA certified event that will get you much needed competition that will help your UTR ranking all while having fun. So, grab a partner, register, and test your skills. All skill and experience levels are welcome. See you on the courts.
