✨️Reflections From the Mat✨️ I took my evening practice outside last night. There was a gentle breeze, but the heat of the day still lingered in the air. ⁣

I moved through a very simple practice. I am in an intense endometriosis flare, so gentle was key. I just needed to create space for my body and nervous system to find some ease.⁣

After closing my practice, I looked down at my mat and ran my hand over its soft woven texture. A flood of memories and feeling moved through me.⁣

This mat, a beautiful Mysore rug, has been a companion in my practice for nearly two decades! ⁣

It was with me through every session of my 500-hour training and has traveled with me to sit and learn from master teachers in my lineage.

I even opened my very first class at the studio sitting on this rug. The studio turns 15 next month!

It has held me in some of my darkest moments of grief and loss, and supported me through profound joy, insight, and inspiration. This simple cotton rug has held so much more than words could ever express.⁣ I am honestly moved to tears writing this.

The next time you roll out your mat, take a moment to pause and reflect on the journey you have taken together. ⁣

Roll it out with reverence; like you are setting up a sacred altar. When your practice comes to an end, offer gratitude for how it carried you. Honor it as you would a dear friend & teacher.⁣

Let this become part of your practice 💛

Two years ago, on a Gemini New Moon, I ventured with a dear friend up into the Okanogan Highlands to harvest some Arnica.

The day was beautiful and the patch abundant. I picked only what I needed and gave thanks for the blessing of this wild medicine.

I meticulously separated the flowers from their stems, packed them gently into a jar, covered them with avocado oil and put the jar in a brown paper bag. The process was meditative and grounding.

This jar sat on my kitchen counter for two years. I needed to drain the oil, but I kept putting it off and putting it off. Procrastination station amiright 😆

A few days ago, I finally drained the oil. It was perfect! The color rich and the smell, heavenly. I knew this would be potent medicine 🙌

The way that my mind works, I was hit with deeper meaning.

This is what came through:

🌼Sometimes, the medicine of our potential needs to marinate for a while.
🌼Sometimes, it needs to rest until we are truly ready.
🌼Sometimes, it becomes even more potent in that time spent resting.

This feels true for so many things in my life. And here we are, about to meet the Gemini New Moon again. Full circle ✨
🌙 If you feel called, join me for a Gemini New Moon Sound Bath this Sunday, June 14th at 10am!

🌼 AND, if you feel called to go even deeper into the potent medicine of your potential, join me for the 200 hour Viniyoga Teacher Training/Deeper Study I’m offering! We begin this transformational 9 month journey on September 13th! Applications are OPEN 🌼

What is one thing I love to do at the studio when I’m not teaching yoga?

DANCE!

Not only is it one of my favorite ways to move stuck energy, dance is one of the most ancient healing forms on the planet. When we dance in community, we harmonize and we remember that we are here together.

👉This is not a guided class. It is a chill community space to dance and tap into embodied movement.

Music is provided! Bring some water, your beautiful self(and some friends) and move your body! There will be time to rest and connect, too.

Ecstatic comes from the Greek word ékstasis, which means “to become unstuck”. Somatic means “of the body”. Through Ecstatic Somatic Dance we can tap into the innate wisdom of the body and become unstuck.

Things to understand about Ecstatic Dance:
✨The Dance Floor is a Sacred Space✨
1. Be Present - No phones, no cameras (removing smart watches is recommended as well)
2. Be Embodied - No talking on the Dance Floor.
3. Be Clear - No intoxicants.
4. Be Consensual - No touching. (This experience is more about being in your own energy, rather than dancing with a partner)
5. Be Here - No outside shoes.
6. Be FREE - Dance how you want(while being respectful of the space and others of course!)

Equity-Based Sliding Scale: $10-20
*No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

🙏Your contributions help to support the space & keeps the energy flowing. It’s all about reciprocity🙏

“Sun is shining, weather is sweet” Makes me want to lay under this tree!

Let’s get together on the Summer Solstice for some yoga under the beautiful trees at History Park! (the one with the pool)

Appropriate for All Levels! Please bring your own mat. A towel works too!

👉You can use your current class pass or drop-in for $15

Sunday, June 21
10-11am
***Please note that this is an outdoor event in an uncontrolled environment. There may be other people using the park or driving by. I do my best to create a safe space, but if you have experienced a trauma where these variables feel unsafe to you or may be triggering, I suggest attending an in-studio class where the environment is more controlled. Thank you for your understanding.

🌕 Once in a blue moon, everything shifts 🌕

On New Year’s Day, I pulled a card for each month of the coming year. The card for May was “The Moon”. There is so much symbolism in this one card and it being the card for a month with two full moons feels pretty apropos. The watery depths of the Scorpio Full Moon that opened the door to May and the Blue Moon rising that closes it out✨

We won’t have another blue moon until 2028 and this one lands in the fiery truth-bombing sign of Sagittarius🔥

I invite you to do some honest self reflection on the time since the Sagittarius New Moon that we had back in December as well as anything you were working on during the last full moon at the beginning of May:
✨What is coming to completion?
✨Are there still any outdated cages that you are in where you are unable to spread your wings?
✨In what areas of your life are you ready for expansion?
✨Are you ready to stop waiting for permission and start trusting your intuition?

If you want to go deeper with a vibrational tune up to assist you in these reflections & this shift, please join us on Saturday @ 6pm for our Blue Moon Sound Bath!

The moon reaches its peak in the early morning hours on Sunday, so this is the perfect way to tap in and allow the shift to integrate while we sleep.
