Yoga Beyond the Mat…
What happens when we begin to see postures as one part of a much larger path?
Ashtanga Yoga is not only a method of practicing asana. Behind the sequence is a tradition of philosophy, discipline, breath, concentration, self-inquiry, and a way of approaching life.
Join us for a 3-hour workshop exploring the Eight Limbs of Yoga and the philosophy behind the practice, with time for both study and experience.
Together, we will explore:
🫁 Prāṇāyāma
🕉️ Traditional chanting & mantra — including their meaning and purpose
📖 Yoga Sūtras & the Eight Limbs of Yoga — exploring the teachings from their philosophical roots
🧘🏽 Full Led Primary Series — bringing the study onto the mat through breath, movement, and concentration
We’ll begin with the study and discussion portion, take a short 5-minute coffee break, and then transition into the asana practice.
This is an opportunity to step beyond simply doing the practice and begin to explore why we practice, what supports the practice, and how these teachings can extend beyond the mat.
